They say it does, but it hasn't so far. Nor has fish oil, alum, bacon grease, tea tree oil, bitter apple or coconut oil. It's really dry here (Colorado) so I'm sure that plays a part. It seems to go away when he's outside more tho...

I'm guessing that's what the ointment I have to put on her stitches is for; i.e. anti-itching. She takes her pain and antibiotic meds fine (considering I wrap them in cheese it's no surprise) but that ointment... Man she don't like dat a bit; snarls, growls and even snaps @ me. I hope he gets better soon. What happened to his leg?

I've been keeping her by my side and protecting her. The other dogs are so interested in her new head-gear and she's on meds and uncomfortable. Yeah, it makes me sick and I feel like I should be punished for it; probably will when I die and get to doggie Heaven. I've long decided that I am not going to human Heaven and have opted for the Dog version.

Vet says it's some kinda allergy. Like hot spots but all over, I feel bad for him, but if he dosen't wear the cone of shame he will chew bloody places anyplace his teeth can reach. I keep his claws fairly short with a dremel too, because if I don't he can claw big holes in his hide that way. The JRT website says they seem to get these troubles in drier climates like here, and you just have to keep trying the different remedies till you find something that works...no luck so far tho...Hope yours heals up soon, that's a nasty hack there...

I read your other posts, but remember you can't be everywhere at all times. This could have happened if you were at the supermarket, so at least you were there to respond.

I have three dogs, an older rat dog probably between 12 and 14, a double-dapple dachshund about 4 or 5 and a chiweenie that's almost 1. The older dog does not connect with the chiweenie at all. The puppy can't get it through her head that the other one doesn't want to play and would rather find a soft sunny spot and stay there. So there is always some arguing going on between them, the occasional bite ensues but nothing serious so far. The dachshund and the chiweenie get along like sisters though. And the younger one almost always lets her sister "win" when we play fetch.

I think I see some improvement in that eye of hers. Weird about the allergies; hope you find something that works.

True but I was there and had a fleeting thought about changing the scenario just prior to it happening so the guilt rests on my shoulders brother. I loved your comment about getting her to the vet; too funny.
