You might not be interested in adult movies or porn, but you might be interested in how someone's life leads them to be so accomplished in this type of endeavor. Don't read this book by Jenna Jameson if you object to reading detailed descriptions of sexual encounters and sex acts.

Drugs played a major role in Jenna's life, and drug use is a theme that runs through the book.
Many sexual acts are described, but, contrary to the title, you probably won't want to emulate them.
Certain phrases in the book didn't sound like Jenna Jameson would have said them.
There are some humorous moments. Be sure to read Jenna's most common interview questions, page 513!
Guide Review - How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale
This is a difficult book to review, since people who read it will do so for different reasons. I read the book because Jenna Jameson is a famous Arizonan. I have never seen her films. I have never seen her in any magazine that I know of, and I don't go to strip clubs. I am not prudish; I just have not been interested in the world of porn.

A glimpse into the world of porn is exactly what you'll get with this book. None of it was a surprise. Drugs, abuse, manipulation, violence, sadness, hopelessness--not much that's good exists in that world.

Jenna Jameson found her niche. Lacking nurturing and guidance as a child, she began to use the qualities that she saw in herself to her advantage. Her story goes on to describe how the people in her life--her family, manipulative men, her poor role models--helped mold her into a porn star who was insecure, and, at the same time, craved attention, fame, and money. She used the tools that she was born with to "succeed": beauty and a great body.

The book is an easy read, although choppy with snippets of diary entries (which I doubted were real), interview Q and As with her family (I found myself skimming those), a sample movie contract (what's up with that?), and lots of photos of Jenna through the years (how come she looks like different people in so many of these photos?).

Jenna Jameson never apologizes for her life or her chosen career in this book. She isn't asking for sympathy or understanding. She simply tells her story.
