Knowing the end is near, but still wanting to go out gracefully, I scrape up Kanadesaga's remains and pry his head off the bedpost with a sickening pop. After chewing it back and cursing my nose for still being able to smell I take his two-piece self out to the graveyard and promptly bury him.

"Friend," I say to no one in particular. "I know now I was wrong about you, but an exploding monkey head? I wish I knew where you picked it up before you and it were evicerated. Hell of an ice breaker. Hey lady, want to see my exploding monkey head?" I pause. "Actually...hell of a way to get slapped with a restraining order. I take it back about the monkey, but rest in pieces, as it were."

I turn my attention back to Poetrychic and GG.

"Eenie, meanie, miney...."

in all the confusion of last night's events, it seems a horrible oversight has been committed...no one has given the old man a proper burial...

*climbs into chris's backhoe and drives to the clearing in the woods...you know the one, where the mountain stream lazily loops through all the wildflowers...here will be the perfectly peaceful place for the old man's final resting place*

(digs grave)

back in the village center i look around for someone to assist me, but there is no one...the others are nowhere to be seen, probably plotting to administer a most painful and unjust death to yours truly...just as well, i doubt they would help anyway...i gather the old man's remains and wrap them gently in linen, taking care to secure him snugly...i put him in the cart and hitch the goat to help me haul him back to the clearing where i lay him peacefully in the grave i dug....

as i cover him with earth, i say a little prayer for his soul, as a final show of respect, i place his prized walking stake across the newly packed dirt..."rest peacefully, old man"

i lead the goat back to the village and wait for the others to arrive...
