Don't you hate it when

others take credit for your work or place blame for their incompotence?

I was asked to work on a high profile project with tight deadlines because there is a resource crunch. My manager approved 20% of my time on this project as good will sort of thing (at the time if I didn't want it, I could've said no) despite the fact I have a heavy workload and busy with other things. I don't mind this sort of stuff but 2 things have recently happened that make not want to be so willing to help.

The project team decided to have a contest to find a name for the new service we're introducing. I graciously offered to develop the website and had it up and running within days - with all their requirements.

The communication team (2 people) were responsible for providing me with the content and design of the page. They gave me a PDF of what it should look like - and I did it. Minus one line about the date (because I won't be around to do it and they never discussed it with me).

So the project lead told me yesterday that he spoke with the communication team about the page lacking content and info - and they blamed me for it!! I told the project lead it's their responsibility to provide that info.

I have the email to prove that this is what they gave me which I'm going to forward it to the 3 of them on Monday. I'm pissed off because I went out of my way to help them out and this is the thanks I get.

Second thing that pissed me off is that the project lead took credit for one of my ideas inadvertently but even when someone said "great idea" - he never corrected the person. There's not much I can do about that because I would look petty and too much time has passed...plus it's not even that big of a deal (not high profile or critical)...so I'm trying to let it go but the above is resurfacing my anger

I'm just venting because it's still pissing me off.

LOL..thanks Malki! Just a really busy and stressful time and I'm just in bitch mode because of all the stuff that's piling up. I also have very bad habit (which I'm trying to get rid of) of focusing and dwelling on petty things like this and then getting mad...serves me right

Well, at least you have this crowd to come and vent to Seriously, if you feel like venting, it's a good idea to do it. That's what we are here for

Some stupid questions...

This opening describes a project you are considering doing?

The rest of the post describes an issue from the past?

The two projects are not related?

Pardon my stupidity

Not stupid questions at all. I'm already neck deep in the project. The issues I described happened in the last 2 weeks. There's only one project - I listed 2 of things that happened recently to piss me off. The last paragraph was about an idea that I had regarding the project which he took credit for. Hope this clarifies
I'm not too worried because management is very happy with me so I have nothing to prove at this point.
