Most violent abusers are drug or alcohol users. Alcohol users drink at home, though most times they also meet many of their victims at bars; hell, you knew that. Drug users on the other hand, use drugs anyplace. You knew that too. Quote:
The OP is delberately vauge in critical details. But what a "victim" of prior abuse might or might not say can only be determined by counceling sessions. Often you may be 10-20 sessions into a client before you can determine whether abuse has happened, be it violence, sexual, parental abuse. and that knowledge has to be determined by a clinician. That she would mention the lack of abuse speaks volumes for prior incidents.

Some of the drug users and dealers I've known are certified drug counslers. Quote:

If I take this as fact that the lady in question doesn't have low self-esteem from childhood abuses, sending her into abusive relationships as a valience shift, and that she's a clinically 'normal' person then I must then question YOUR history. This person might be having a brain-fart type slip-o-th'-tongue, and meant that she was numerically lucky not to have been with an abusive significant other (comparative to the number of abusive relationships). That's how I would've interpreted it. You interpreted it as saying SHE was lucky to have managed to 'score' a non-abusive partner. This leads me to wonder about what abuses childhood brought you, either personally or witnessed. That'll be $2.50 couch session fee. ![]()
