My friend and I were just talking about dumb things we've done.

I reminded her of the story about another friend.

His name is Mark and this was about 10 years ago.

He called me EXTREMELY wasted and called to ask for a ride home...he explained he had locked his keys in his car.
of course, I obliged. (and thankful he had locked his keys in the car)
When I arrived the locksmith was there opening the car,

the problem is the car alarm.... wouldn't go off.
the other problem is that it wasn't his car, hence the first problem.

luckily the owner of the car was just as drunk inside the bar.

I was pretty drunk, and this was pretty dumb.
Freshman year of college, big party at a campground that sits on the shore of a large resevouir. It's about 2am, everyone is pretty wasted. Someone dares someone else to swim across the resevoir. It's about 1/2 mile wide at this place. The guy starts swimming across, nobody can believe it. I have always been a really strong swimmer, and decide that this would be an easy task. So against everyone's advice, I too begin the long swim. About halfway across, I realize I am in deep shit. I am getting exhausted, and the opposite shore is still a LONG way off. All the beer in my stomach is flip-flopping. I vomited, which made it nearly impossible to keep my head above water. I was disoriented. I filled my lungs with air, and did the "dead mans float". I also prayed. I turned back, fixing my eyes on the campfire. No way was I going to make it back. I saw a bright light, which I thought may or may not have been Jesus. It was the Sherrif department's spotlight, and they hauled my drunk, nearly dead ass to shore. Then to the hospital, to check me out. Needless to say, I was lucky. Oh, the other guy who swam across, he was just faking it. He had just swam out far enough to turn back undetected.

Why were the Sherrifs there in the first place? Did your friends call them to drag the bottom of the lake to find your body?

Signed up for this board...and then volunteered to be moderator...at least Eric tells me I volunteered...and he also promises that is the only thing that happened when he got me drunk.
