I'm hoping an abnormality disappears before her next mammogram.

That's what I am hoping too - she goes this Tuesday for another mammogram and a sonogram. In the meantime, I bathe her in green and pink light in my mind's eye.

Just to let you know...

Cancer is rampant in my family; every genetic link is covered. I've had great aunts on both sides die from breast cancer. So....I've had two biopsies, both negative. Funny thing, the only time any doctor ever found anything needing a second, then third test, then needless surgery was when I had insurance.

They like to eat when you have insurance.

I found out my last biopsy was a joke...mini fibroid clusters are not uncommon. There should have been no need for surgery. My cancer possibilities went from 20% with the mammogram to 10% with the second test then to 2% and finally to around 1% on the day of the surgery. I was suspicious--but there's are all those cancer links...and gee..what do you do?

I should have cancelled right there-

I happened to joke with the doctor when he said they'd be leaving a tag in my breast. I joked about how I might set off airport alarms and asked if it was a possibility. The idiot didn't even understand--his nurse tried to translate--and still he didn't even begin to crack a smile. I should have fired the bastard right there too.

Doctor's can and should be fired on a regular basis and second opinions are always good things.

There are plenty of doctors out there whose only motive is money. Procedures mean money. Insurance means payment. They don't care about the emotional stress they can cause to your life--you are consumer cow.

Don't let them get you emotionally. It's business.
