Victim or no?
What if people are actually choosing to be a victim? Of course, it may not always be a conscious decision. Yet, there actually seems to be things one could gain from such an arrangement. Ability to chalk it up to experience and social status for starters. Just wondering what others' thoughts are on this.

If they are choosing to be the victim, then they aren't. Hey, role playing can be fun

![]() You're the least philosophical person here to discuss this Mal. True, they technically would not be a victim but because they often bury their choice to take on that "role" there are things to be gained. Wonder if the lessons of the "role" would be better if every time they chose it, they were reminded of that choice. |

PS - It's the meaning of leaves. Follow the color til it disappears. Eventually they may learn to stop choosing the "bad" experiences though. Imagine a world in which the people are "rewarded" (and given attention to) for their positive creativity. Buzzkill...ha! |

Typically, being the victim affords one the attention, and sympathy of others.
Perhaps it's just about the spotlight? Deeper, it could be self deprication, but that might lead to digging into one's childhood.

To me, the choices in childhood are the ones settled before incarnating. So, really, past life exploration would be a valid tool in the process of understanding why someone would make such choices. I recall on the old board I had a thread asking what others would choose to come back as in their next life. I believe only Cosmicrocker replied, saying he wanted to be a really hot chick who runs for president. Yet, the thread's point was to consider what lifestyle could you emerge into for whatever sets of experiences you're aiming to have. I'm hedging on fairy the next go round. ![]() |
