You sound like you got cheap brake-pads.

Could also be a 'hanging' pad- caused by a faulty spring, improperly tightened bolts, or a bad slave-cylinder (caliper).

Does the car 'pull' to one side or the other when you brake? If you don't feel it pull to one side, or a pulsing feeling in the steering wheel and/or brake pedal then you're probably fine.

However, I say that because I can check mine out thorougly. That you cannot means you MUST have them checked.

That blue gel crap is crap. You cannot stop the sqealing by applying something onto a surface that wears away by design!
yeah, but it goes between the contact of the piston to the back of the pad, not the friction side. (not designed to wear away) I think its really a sort of "lube" that quiets the steel backing plate- has nothing to do w/ the friction side.

I have no idea what most of you're talking about. I'm taking back on Saturday for him to look at. Generally, how long our brakes under warranty?

Depends. The cheaper ones have something like a year or two. Add a Ten and you get 'lifetime'.

Okay, I was wondering. I have used this, thought they were talking about some BS take-your-money crappola.

Come to think of it, the back side could be where the sqeal is coming from with friction on the moving parts rubbing while brakes are engaging/disengaging.

I always do my own brakes for that reason...

that's what she said. in triplicate.

Try braking in reverse a few times, ride them a bit hard, like when your coming to a stop when moving forwards.

Be careful.

There might be a bad spot or burr on the pads, sometimes if you scrape them in the opposite direction it flattens it.
