(RANT) Why Am I A Loser?

(RANT)
In visiting PGF on those occasions when I'm online, I am thunderstruck how much time it takes a person to "man" an internet site, gleaning hundreds of posts and topics hour after hour, day after day.

What else do you do?

Me? I am out of the house in daytime, shooting photographs, gardening, straightening fences, keeping the modest home in good repair: why just yesterday I tore out the old pipes under the sink, installed a new faucet and drain pipes, got elbow deep helping my wife repot her plants, spent an hour or so wandering the aisles at SAM'S while waiting at the pharmacy for my prescriptions and trellised my four new tomato plants.

After a 131 minute webmaster session checking mail-etc., I watched the latest rerun of that really screwy-convoluted "Sopranos" dulli-drama, responded to my Digitek recall letter, napped (I like napping)-etc.
Quote:
*FYI: The “voluntary” nature of the Digitek recall is a deliberate; nay-dastardly subterfuge: designed to get you to send in your unused Digitek and receive or solicit a refund.
Don’t do it: send in your receipt or your unused meds that is.
If there is a class action lawsuit against the makers (and you know the law-suits are already in the pipeline), and you sent in your unexpired meds or in anticipation of or accept a refund, you are further prevented from joining the class action lawsuit(s) or filing one of your own, the thinking by the lawyers being you’ve already “Settled” with the maker.
So don’t send in your meds or take/solicit the refund.
*** The makers of “Digitek” (aka: “Digoxin”) were warned in March of 2006 by their own personnel about Digitek. The FDA and other government agencies have looked into the matter and so should you.
****I’ve been on Digoxin since 1991.

It was not until this morning (5-17-08) when the
"Welcome al Asaad; you last visited" blurb told me I had last checked in yesterday at 08:52 AM".
Strange thing is, I do not remember doing so.

It is spring and the nearby Arboretums are in full bloom; or nearly so. My film and digital SLRs are clean, with new or refreshed batteries at the ready. Today after tmy morning doodle-around with the plants, I'm off to shoot the latest flowers and whatever else that attracts my eye.

Needless to say my micro and ultra-lite spinning rods always ride along, just in case the notion hits me to drag some line through one of the local (State Fish & Game) stocked ponds.

I noticed this morning how my "spluge" of postings has fallen off here, the blindingly self-serving posts of me and others no longer having a stranglehold on my time.
I wrote one little blurb this morning before I realized I didn't really care (wasn't going to waste my time) scrolling though page after page of cryptic 5-10 words responses by someone or another dutifully firing back at... someone or another about McCain-Obama-Clinton etc..

Nope. I have better things to do than spend much more time (beyond this self-serving rant) writing at/on PGF.
I shoot film (Canon EOS) and digital (Olympus E3, E510) SLRs.
I also own and shoot the "fastest" ever digital "Bridge" camera:
My Panasonic DMC-FZ20, with its f/2.8 (throughout the entire 36mm-432mm-zoom range) Leica lens.
With my 1.7 OLYMPUS T-CON tele screwed on, the FZ20 goes out to 714mm still at f/2.8.
I like and purchased the Olympus 4/3rds system because with the proper adapter, they let me shoot 14(!) different "legacy" lens mounts (To include those gorgeous Leica "R" mounts!)

Right now, I'm feeling... photography; or fishing; anything other than spending time on the internet on this glorious Saturday morning making pointless political points.
*I am a Catfisherman, my Shakespeare ultralite and Quantum microlite poles used to catch Bream-Bluegills and other tasty little fish to feed the big Blue and Channel Catfish I'm really stalking.
**For the squeamish: yes I feed the big fish live little fish: it's what they eat in real life.
Do I have any compassion at all for the little fish? Yes!
But Islam has a saying which covers the occasion:
"Insha’Allah": ((if) God wills it)(I will catch some fish).
(end of RANT).

You'll be back..........

But seriously....... are people like us really even "here" to begin with?

Look a our post counts, and compare them to most others.

Too much of anything is bad. Look at me I'm playing BF2 till my eyes bleed.

I'm not big on the "go do things" scene. If I enjoyed those things more I probably do them more often. But they tend to involve waiting and sharing and bullshit in New England. It's crowded here, and there really are very few "get aways" left.

My work life and my wife's is highly competitive. It takes vast amounts of energy both physical and mental to earn a decent living here. By the time I mow, weedwhack, and a chore or two, I'm not really ready to do anything other then re-charge my battery for another week's work.

It's sort of a pathetic existence if I stop and think about for long. I should get out more, there are things I do enjoy other then doing shots of tequila and snorting blow.

I never understood photographers that feel the need to do this.
I'm a photographer and it would take me two hours to decipher this bit of boasting. But if completely confusing people = impressing people then you win the prize.

It's a gorgeous spring day out there. Just got back from a bike ride to the local college. I've been trying to hire an assistant by putting up notices there, but in two weeks not even one call. Lazy little shits, they're probably all out enjoying this weather... which is where I should be now too.

Have a good one al Asaad. Everyone should spend a little less time at PGF on days like this one.

I guess you weren't too busy if you had the time to post this self-righteous rant of yours.

What is a waste of time is, reading this drivel. I actually thought there was going to be some point to it.

I thought your wife passed.

At least that's what you said when someone called you Al.

You have gardens, and fishin holes in the ghetto?

Looks like you're up to your old tricks....Al.

Edit....here it is....

My name is al Asaad or Atheem, not “Al”.
And you nor anyone else here has any idea of how I “treat” women.
Only my deceased wife of 49 years and my five daughters can tell you "How I treat women", no one else, in particular an internet forum member.
What you have read is what I think about the weak-minded men who kow-tow to damn near anything a woman says on this board. I know such conduct reflects fear: lily-livered fear.
You know no one can hurt you on this board, not me nor any of the women. But still you and the other men bow and scrape to them because we men are supposed to bow to womanhood, let them have their say (and their way).

So, is she deceased, or is she potting plants today?

Is there any woman anywhere who doesn't...

Haven't you heard about f'n up a bad story with facts?

I don't get the camera lingo, I just point, click, and drop the paper-camera in K-Mart's bin.

I myself spend loads of time on-line, it's the bestest place for porn.

I'm being promised some time off here shortly.
I'm might even get a second day off each week.
Oh yay, more time for housework.

You have to know what to read and what not to read. Possibly half of all forum posts are not worth reading. Another quarter are about subjects you know nothing about.

The better you know the internet, the more efficiently you can and should use it.
