Obviously you are not informed on the subject or bothered to watch the clip to have seen that this poor woman's life is truly a misery, i.e. "is prone to screaming fits b/c of her condition." and b/c of short term memory loss does not remember that her son is dead and has to re-live that awful news everyday. That's some respect you have for a gold star Mom, there.

And b/c I am generous of heart, I shall assure you that I belong to a blood-sucking insurance co that operates only in this state. How about you?
You must realize that Walmart is not responsible for health costs....the insurance company is. Walmart was not out any money for the health costs of Mrs. Shank. The Insurance company was. Walmart was not getting any money from this lawsuit. The insurance company was getting back the money they were out on health costs of Mrs. Shank. It is ok to be angry but you should direct it toward the insurance company.

Do you not know any lawyers? Please ask them if I am correct on who is actually suing in this matter so you can direct your hate to the proper source.

That is not what is being reported at all. You will need to provide a source for this otherwise it is mere bullshit. Sorry to be blunt.

I've been doing business with the Chinese for 20 years. The people with whom I've done business are/were below the communist radar. As China has developed a more relaxed stance with capitalism, those with whom I've supported over the years have become quite prosperous.

This is not the case with WalMart. WalMart exploits cheap/slave labor in China. Hence, they support the old and fading communist regime. Why do you support communism?

Furthermore, WalMart has destroyed Mom & Pop shops all over our glorious nation. By doing so, they siphon money away from local economies thereby destroying communities, and hence, the lives of good, honest Americans. What do you have against the American dream?

Hey Tex, you may be wrong about that. Plenty of companies self-insure (I used to work for one). The company pays all the costs of the claims, and they hire an outside administrator to manage their plan. If that's the case, then it is indeed Walmart that sued, and Walmart that dropped the suit.

If they are their own insurance company then that would be correct. I have great doubts that Walmart is the insurance company for its employees as that would be very rare. Even the federal and all states that I am aware of have a private insurance carrier for its employees. Perhaps someone on the board works there and can give us this information.

even if it was an insurance company sueing to recover the $400K - why wouldn't Walmart offer to repay them the money so they'd drop the suit ? too decent ? too honorable ?
