no on the gross sales of the corp. Not a sales tax. besides sales taxes usually go to the states directly.
No, GM is not 2/3 of all US corps. However, they are big, and a good example. The article states "25% are large corporations", which GM is a part of. What about the rest of the 75%? Those are the small and medium sized businesses. I find it quite plausible that small businesses are not doing too hot nowadays, so their non payment of taxes does not surprise me. And if US corp taxes were lower, fewer corps would have had Cayman Island PO boxes.
Typical, do you blame the victims of rape too?

No, but i don't see who is being raped... It's their money, corps do not put a gun to people's heads and force them to buy their products. People buy on their own free will.

Malk, I didn;t think you did blame them, I was trying to make a point. and I am getting tired of these corporate rationalizations. Yes , we could all go live back in the 15th century, that is a choice. Is it a rational one? NO! Survive without transportation? surivive with a phone? Refrigeration? So I don't buy this bullshit that it's a choice to spend money with corps. It isn't and you know it isn't.

but even using your own words, you're blaming the gov't for taxing them. It's the same argument a wife beater uses, "You made me do it" Well it don't fly there and that excuse don't fly with me.

Well, if corps provide the essentials that are vital for modern survival, why are you hating them then? They may (or may not) make large amount of money, but we get our luxurious standard of living in the bargain thanks to them, even the poor, so what's wrong with that? (I've always said i'd rather be poor in the US than middle class in back in Russia).

I don't really blame the government... I'm just saying if a particular location wants to attract business, it would do well to lower business taxes. Lol, it's not an abused wife metaphor... More like, if you want to attract a mate, you would do well to wear a nice dress...
