Anyone else going to be glad when this last debate is over?

If Obama can just hold a steady course tonight, I'm going to breath a sigh of relief...no more debates. How many have we been through now?

about 35 I think.....if you count the repukes debates.

I will be glad when it is over too.

Going to vote this week and be done with that --- I will be focussing my attention on completeing the requests of the Obama site for my assistance.

IF you have a My Barack page----go there! They have a great thing where they tell ya what they need help with right on your own page!

It's been quite a ride, that's for sure. If it all turns out the way it should we will all breath a sigh of relief but to be honest we shouldn't get comfortable if Obama wins. If our voices will ever have a chance of being heard it will DURING and Obama presidency.

I think we should start a movement to change the MSM in anyway we can. Force them to be accountable by supporting those who speak the truth and scould those who have fed off of division and bullshit.

I am in total agreement...but what does the movement look like? First we have to prove bias. (actually there is already a study that proves Obama has gotten, overwhelmingly more negative press)
then you have to prove under-reporting...it's such a huge issue, it's kind of hard to wrap my mind around a movement that would work.

thoughts?

What you're afraid Obama's going to walk over to McCain and say, "Honky please!"

Folks are already getting on this.

We are looking for some legislative changes and we are working on pressuring the media.

I actually got a personal response from Phil Graham which I posted somewhere here.

Basically,

We believe that the 4th estate deserves constitutional protections ONLY as long as it serves the purposes of the people of the USA. To accurately and truthfully inform us.

We want them to be required to acknowledge what is "reporting" and what is analysis based on their own opinion.

We want those stations that repeat inaccurate or untrue information to be sanctioned by the FCC and loose all protections for 5 years. No more unnamed sources. No more white house press access. No more other press perks. Open them WIDE for liable suits, and other actions against them.

AND we want a fine---MILLIONS of dollars for each instance.

We want legal fees for the citizens who have to bring the suits and special punishment for any and everyone who should attempt to harass people out of bringing them---the citizen whistleblower protection.

We want the individuals who lie to hold both personal and corporate liabilities.

We want those stations who have politicians on who lie to be accountable for challenging the accuracy of the information within 24 hours and failure to do so to be treated as a breach of trust by the station.

We have also started discussing how we get our history and our language back! What role do we feel that the news mediums have for accuracy and truth there......

Look----the blogosphere is a cess pool of misinformation no matter how you cut it. It is frustrating and dangerous to have the repukes pushing the concept that everyone is entitled to their own facts. It is INSANE that people like Palin can so blatantly and disrespectfully lie to the American people without consequence.

Freedom of speech will still be available to all!

They can be as free as their little hearts desire. But the umbrella of protection provided for our 4th estate---a critical accessory to our nations government will be narrowed to only those willing to take the covenant (that should be sacred between the people and the media) seriously--- everyone else should be on their own.
