I found it offensive the two or three times that McCain blathered about all children having a chance for a good education like Obama and his wife -- then he added himself and Cindy.

I am not sure what he was trying to say, but in no way can he compare his educational "opportunities" to those of Barack Obama.

He got into West Point because of his father -- same way Bush got into Yale -- and, as we all know, graduated 894th out of a class of
899. I am sure that both Barack and Michelle Obama had to make excellent grades to maintain scholarships.

And his enthusiasm for vouchers had nothing
to do with helping black children attend better
schools.

Right now --- write when the lies are there. Ask WHY they have writers or commentators etc. who don't tell the truth. Ask them if they feel they have a responsibility as members of the fourth estate. And importantly, ask them what fact checking they have available to their staff.

Be sure to substantiate your position with quotes etc. Don't just say "everyone knows ......" or "most of what I have heard....." kinds of things. Focus ONLY on facts you can illustrate.

At the end, I try to remind them that if the people cannot rely on truth from them the internet is making certain that the facts are available AND that there is no longer any excuse for inaccurate information --- the public can surf the truth before they end their shows, or print their papers.

We don't argue opinions or differences in opinion UNLESS the opinion uses at it's core an a lie.

For example "I think Obama is dangerous because he murdered his mother."

We don't argue Obama isn't dangerous---just that facts show that he did not murder his mother.

We keep it very simple and VERY focused on fact, truth, accurate....
