Bush Claims ‘We Have Fabulous Health Care’ Compared To ‘The World'
it's the oxycontin, kids. think of rush limbaugh. he was still able to function.
Bush Claims ‘We Have Fabulous Health Care’ Compared To ‘Other Systems Around The World’ During a Q & A following his speech on the economy in Fredericksburg, VA today, President Bush declared that “we have fabulous health care in America“: Quote:
In 2002, the U.S. spent more on health care per person than other industrial countries like Britain, Canada, France, and Germany. But unlike those countries, which have universal health care systems, there are roughly 47 million Americans who lack health coverage. In 2000, the World Health Organization (WHO) did a comparative assessment of the health systems of 191 countries. The WHO found that in terms of the five measured performance indicators, the U.S. ranked 37th: Quote:
As Paul Krugman has noted, American health care “at its best is the best in the world,” but for millions of Americans “it’s all too easy to fall through the cracks in our system.” Posted by Matt at 5:54 pm |

Thus giving us further proof that Dubya can't/doesn't read, and if he can, he doesn't care what the statistics say and he'll make it up as he goes along.

After going through the hell I've been through medically in this country I loved Mickael Moor's film "Sicko". It's the truth about the medical, insurance, and pharmasutical industries.

So next time you get sick go to France to get treated. They smoke in the hospitals there.
The US has the best health care in the world. The numbers of people supposedly uninsured are inflated and most of them are only temporary between jobs anyway. |

it's the best and least accessible to its citizens due to wealth. it's broken. allowing access to all will increase preventative medicine and save billions. why do you hate billions?

as those who can pay come from overseas to get treated. But if you can't see a Dr. before it's critical, then health care is not helping you. And Lord help you if you have a pre-extisting condition - that won't be covered by your new policy, even though one is likely to need just that coverage. It's a great system if you are rich. otherwise.....well just don't get sick ![]()
