Catholic League president Bill Donahue finally makes sense.

Mike Huckabee’s TV ad features the Neocon Republican presidential wannabe telling voters that “what really matters” during the holiday season “is the celebration of the birth of Christ”.

The ad features Huckabee speaking in front of what appears to be a floating cross over his right shoulder.

Yesterday, the ad drew criticism from none other than Catholic League president Bill Donahue, best known as a right-wing culture warrior.
Quote:
"The whole idea is to give the appearance of a cross," he said, "and this is just injecting religion into politics even too far for guys like me."

Asked if the ad was "too much," Donahue said it was.

"Because there's a pattern here," he added. "Every other word out of [Huckabee's] mouth is that 'I'm Christian.' He's calling into question Romney's Mormonism...let people talk about there faith, but don't sell it on your sleeve."

Added Donahue, "Yeah, I believe in freedom of speech and freedom of religion, but don't become a salesman. Don't hawk it like that on the street."
This from the man who got his panties in a bunch over a chocolate Jesus. *chuckle*

Yes that Bill Donohue....Mr “Hollywood likes anal sex”? or Mr “gays haven’t apologised to straights for AIDS”?

Good thing he doesn’t want to see people inject religion into politics though, cause that’d just be nuts.

Do I remember rightly that it was Bill Donahue who lambasted Bill Maher for irreverence regarding Catholic hocus pocus?

Bill Donahue is WAY out there on the Religioso Right. It is exceedingly important that he has come out AGAINST this blatant in-our-faces politicization of religion. Bill Donahue gets it, if the politicians don't, yet, where Progressives are going with calling Christians out on whether they are, in reality, Christians.
