Critizing us policy is not for everyone????

Do all Americans feel free to criticize the gov....??? (just that. Not even protesting or resistance)

I think most if not all- Left right & inbetween would say yes.......

But are there some that will be suspect. Less patriot. Their loyalty questioned if they do not support what their government is now doing in the land of their fathers....

Ppl born "there" as well as their off spring born "here" are apprehensive & inhibited from criticizing the actions of America....

You are free to criticize the place of your birth or the birthplace of your "fathers". Especially if they are on the current "hate list" but if you do as the rest of us feel free to do you can become suspect............

If you are say Arab or Iranian or the child of, criticizing us policy is much less an option....... Obviously your name alone can have you qualifying for gov "lists"......... But it can also make you seem ungrateful & unwanted by some of your fellow citizens.....

Even saying that the portrayal of the place or it's leaders is not quite accurate can result in ridicule & scorn..... & perhaps a lot more.......

Suggesting that you or your parents actually know more than our media or gov is perhaps seen as presumptuous, prevarication, endorsing if not aiding & abetting the enemy...

Sorry I can't tell if you're asking something or making a statement. I had a hard time following your post but I think I got the gist of it:

Regardless of where you were born or who your forefathers, you're free to criticize US policy if you don't agree with it and shouldn't have to feel afraid, guilty or ungrateful to do so - correct?

I took a vacation in Italy once. While walking down the street, I told my friend that the USA is the only country in the world where we can walk down the street and criticize our president

He replied, "You can walk down any street in the world and criticize your president."

Seriously, many of us remember "Love it or Leave it!" That left little room for criticizing, no?

LOL that's funny but why would think/say that the USA is the only country in world where a citizen can criticize their leader?

It is a bit of both... The statements are based on my own observations & those of some Persian & Arabs that I have recently talked w/.................

Do you believe they have a bit of a situation???? Or is it all in "their" heads.. Not ours................

I think this does exist but it's not happening just to Arabs and Persians but anyone who isn't an American born white person - including all people of color and immigrants who are permanent residents.

It was just a joke. I've never been to Italy.

If you listen to our education system, you come to believe that we are something we would like to be, but we are not.

One of the pleasure moments working at the post office and sorting mail was post cards. We would hold the photo side up to the person next to us and ask if he could tell us where it was.

If the photo was of a city with tall buildings, it was always assumed to be in the USA. Somehow, we have been led to believe that they don't have big cities with skyscrapers in other countries, but they do, and I've seen the photos to prove it.

I think black or white americans get a pass.......... Canadians. Mexicans.......... Panamanians?? West Indians??? etc..etc.etc....... No one really cares what they think so it can just be dismissed.......... They are not perceived as the enemy........

Arabs, Persians & others in similar situations are in a similar situation to what the Japanese Americans/Canadians were prior to internment..........

Vilifying Arabs, Muslims, Iranians is politically correct & "understandable" to many... Just like it was to do to the others that came before them on the "bad guys" lists our gov keeps..........

I'd have to disagree with that. People with this mindset are pretty ignorant to begin with, where your origins are from doesn't matter - if you're not a true blood white American.
