He understands Pakistani society ( largely secular, middle class ).

He has also been in touch with Musharraf - urgeing elections.

I don't believe he "wiped the floor", but he's done well. He's stayed away from attacking, and has given some specificity to his answers.

The fact that he doesn't get the coverage he deserves is the reason, I think, he doesn't get the poll numbers he deserves.

While we disagree on Hillary, we agree on Biden.

People who follow all this closely have GOT to be upset with the extent the media controls opinion.

He WIPED THE FLOOR with the rest of the field. Hillary, Edwards, Obama, Richardsons, all the candidates paled in comparison. Hell, the last debates they even had to admit to his lead on many positions. So, without exception, Biden thorough bested all other candidates in the debates. Point, blank and period.

Sorry, old friend, but rating debate performance is a bit subjective, and each of us is entitled to our opinions.

I'm far more concerned, as I think you should be, with media coverage.

I believe, much as I don't like to, that the media is more concerned with a good story and headline than they are with informing the voters.

To this end they have been pushing for the first (woman or black) president in history.


Poll numbers, in my view, are the result of media coverage. Media pounds on a candidate for a few days, and that candidate's poll numbers go down. They give a candidate GOOD coverage for a few days, poll numbers go up.

I have been outraged, and have expressed that outrage to various news sources, that Biden and the others are so uncovered by the news.

I'm outraged that our "news" takes shit out of context to make misleading points, keeps beating those drums they think help their ratings, interpret simple statements as "attacks (they love that word) on other candidates, etc...

I believe Biden would make a very good president. I also believe Hillary will make a very good president. The other dems would make good presidents, in my view.

I am also not blind to Hillary's negatives, or the fact that they seem to be based, according to other postings, on old shit she was cleared of.

All of this comes down to what do I do when the primaries get to my state.

If it's a two or three way race between Obama, Hillary, and Edwards, I vote for Hillary, for reasons I've expressed many times.

If Biden is solidly in the mix, I vote for Biden.

I will not vote for Biden if I believe my vote would then help Obama win the primary over Hillary.

The GOOD NEWS, is everyone of these candidates is a step up from what we've got.

The BAD NEWS is that so many things may have passed the point of no return that no one can reverse them.

When allowed to comment on a particular issue, Biden proved himself more informed and better capable to solve problems than other candidates on most issues. Like it or not he's THE best candidate in the race without exception. The only reason he's polling in single digits is he doesn't whore himself out for campaign dollars the way the- ahem "frontrunners" do.

I already know exactly why they won't give him fair coverage. It's because a smaller campaign budge ments he can't buy as much ad time, and that means they need to bump him aside for the heavier funded candidates. The electoral Iron Trinagle; media, candidates and special interests.

All the care about is one thing: $

Only becauser those two have more ad time money. That's it. If Gravel had a larger campaign coffer they'd be all over him as the ressurection candidate from the 60's. They only craft the story to suit the potential cash cow.

You think Hillary would make a good president only because you bought into the hype and the bullshit from the very same media you complain about. The fact is she's the worst possible candidate the D.I.N.O.'s could've synthesized. Her nomination guarantees a republican preisdent.

And you've been shown to be wrong at least as many times. Plus, you've been exposed as simply recycling Hillary campaign talking points. That's why I just ignored you for so long. It became monotonous to be able to predict your pro-Hillary posts before you typed them up.

Surprise yourself and vote for him regardless. It's this waffling chickenshit "he can't win" attitude that keeps you from choosing the best candidate. And that's why your party keeps losing presidential elections.

He can't win the general if he doesn't win the primary. That's a sad fact of life. Accept it.

I think Hillary would be a good president because I've agreed with her on virtually every issue since '92.
