Obama's campaign just called me

Very nice gentleman tried to tell me Obama doesn't get into attack politics.

I reminded him of the "drivers license" question where he spent two weeks attacking Hillary for her answer, then gave a worse answer when he was asked.

He pointed out that Obama was against the war. I reminded him Obama wasn't IN the senate at the time of the resolution vote, but he was in the senate in '05, and he DID vote to confirm Condi which was a very strange vote to cast if he truly opposed the war at that point.

Then he asked me what I'd like to know.

I told him I'd like to know HOW Senator Obama plans to go about uniting the country.

He promised to email me some stuff.

I told him it better explain the how, not just the what.

hypothetically speaking, isn't your mind made up about Hillary, even if this guy sent you a wealth of information that corraborated all your questions? I don't mean this as a personal attack, it's just that you have been by far her biggest defender on this site and something tells me she's got your 100% support all the way no matter what anyone says.

In all honesty I can say the same about being the opposite, you could point out to me all the things I believe in that Hillary supports but it's not going to change my opinion of her.

Sometimes certain individuals just don't sit well, not good or bad, just how it is for whatever it's worth.

No, my mind is not made up. I've made several posts where I'd be inclined to vote for others.

You've missed my points. It's not what the candidates support so much as it is about how they plan to proceed.

I'd love a united country, but I can't see us being more united as a whole without uniting us little by little within each of the places we are divided.

I can't support "change" unless I have a better idea of what the candidate means when he says "change."

I've been around a number of blocks, and in doing so I've learned not to assume anyone means what I mean until I get the details.

Meanwhile, I got an email with a number of attachments. None of them mention uniting the country. One is entitled "restoring trust in government" and has a few things in it he can do with his signature. Most of the rest of what he proposes, while I like it, would require at least an act of congress, and in some cases amending the constitution.

It worries me some that he doesn't seem to see these distinctions.

My actual vote will depend upon several things. As of now, and that's subject to change, I would vote for Hillary if she has a shot at the nomination when the primaries get here.

If today were my primary day and she's lost ground, I would hope Biden had gained enough so he's got a viable shot.

If Edwards has a viable shot when I cast my vote, I may vote for him.

Usually by the time the primary gets here the nominee has already been selected.

I truly believe all these folks will do a good job as president. I just believe Hillary would start that job a bit quicker and do it a bit better.

I believe I posted a while back that Biden would be my choice of nominee, although Hillary would be my choice as president.

Edwards continues, so far, to poll best head to head against any republican; something we ought to not lose sight of.

I want a seasoned political operative in there. Someone who can throw punches, not just platitudes. a power politics kinna person.

Biden has given numerous speeches on how he would act.
I mean detailed point-by-point explanations of how to defeat special interests, and a blockaiding Congress.

I just get the feeling Hillary can do almost a good of job.
She knows what happened to her health care proposal, and i think she has learned from it.

While I am impressed by Obama's rhetoric, and Edwards ideals, i gotta wonder how well they would fare in the hyper-partisianship of DC politics.

It's not an attack but a legitimate criticism. That fact you didn't know the difference explains your support for Hillary, the worst possible candidate from that party.

The vote to confirm Rice is a red herring that has never once worked for you, because she wasn't the worst person Jr. had in mind for the job. I many times explained to you why your excuse doesn't hold water.

The fact he's not disliked by half the country. You can't whine about who can or can't unite the country what with Hillary in the race.

How about the fact that Hillary only believes what she knows will advance her political career. That's why we don't in fact know what she REALLY believes outside that.

Funny that he's not polling well ahead of all others.

And you'd be wrong on that count. Hillary would sell out to the right wing if the price were high enough. She's done it before, and will do again in a blink. She'll never be trustworthy.

Right, by becoming a complete bootlick for the pharmaceudical and insurance industries.

NO THANKS.

I Obama could make strides to end hyperpartisanship. Edwards...? Not so much.
