Whose fault was that? It wasn't a part of the Pledge! Geeez. People are just upset about that?

This is from CNN dated Sept. 2nd 2007;

The pledge does not apply to fund-raising events, which officials said could provide a loophole for candidates like Mr. Obama, who has held fund-raisers for as little as $25 a person that have doubled as political rallies. Campaign officials said they were awaiting a ruling from the national committee to see what type of appearances — if any — they could make.

Gov. Jennifer M. Granholm of Michigan said her state’s manufacturing crisis and other issues were more important than the order of the primary calendar. “We expect that all of the Democratic candidates for president will be on the ballot in Michigan on January 15th,”

This is my understanding of what occurred...further, that she left her name on the ballot after an understanding-of-the-collusive-sort-that-is-so-popular-in-big-business-and-big-politics by which none of the Big Three would appear on the Michigan ballot.

If this is, in fact, what happened, it speaks volumes about one-name-like-a-star Hillary's underhandedness.

Having said that, I don't see Obama as ONE BIT less inclined to play that game...only less adroit at it, owing to his relative inexperience.

But one-name-like-a-star Obama is a quick learner, I can see that.

I wasn't blaming her for that...I'm more pissed off at the fact that they boycotted this state...

But....if she did agree not to campaign here or whatever...and then DID...it would speak vollumes about her character.

The truth is both candidates have been accussing the other of breaking the pledge....however the facts are plain.

Fundraisers were NOT apart of the pledge, but Obama did complain about Clinton attending two fundraising events though it was clear that it was allowed for him as well.

Posted: 01/15/08 06:18 PM [ET] A spokesman for Sen. Barack Obama’s (D-Ill.) presidential campaign sent out a memo Tuesday afternoon suggesting that rival Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.) might violate her pledge not to campaign in Florida ahead of its Jan. 29 primary.

Obama spokesman Bill Burton said in the memo that Clinton has scheduled a fundraiser in Florida for Jan. 27, and “there are signs – despite Senator Clinton’s public pledge to the contrary – that she may be planning to campaign in the state – inquiring about large venues and increased organizing activity – ahead of the Florida primary.”

Removing their names from the ballot was NOT apart of the pledge. It was the decision of those candidates to do so.

In Michigan, which holds its primary Tuesday night, Obama and former Sen. John Edwards (N.C.) went a step further than the pledge, removing their names from the ballot.

Obama did buy national air time BEFORE the florida primary.....Clinton did not.

From the New York Observer:
Howard Wolfson just walked out of a debate-prep session into the lobby of a local Hilton and was handed a phone. It was Representative Corrine Brown of Florida.
The Congresswoman was apparently upset about the Obama campaign’s decision to air television ads in Florida—she was watching TV when one of the ads came on--despite a pledge signed by the Democratic candidates not to campaign there to punish the state for violating Democratic National Committee rules.

Victory rallies after the fact. Obama held a press conference here before the fact.
All the candidates were on the florida ballot.

You might get a clue about Florida before you post yet more inaccuracies.

The Pledge.

Quote:
"I shall not campaign or participate in any state which schedules a presidential primary election or caucus before Feb. 5, 2008, except for the states of Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire and South Carolina."
She was on the Michigan ballot and has participated in Florida. The media event declaring her the winner is participating.

Guilty as charged.

You know what I just remembered....the DNC stripped us of our delagates...so even if they had stayed on the ballot our votes would have still been worthless.
