Hillary Clinton's word: It's worth nothing

Hilary Clinton's word: It's worth nothing
A New Hampshire newspaper tears into Hilary Clinton for breaking her pledge not to campaign in Florida: "Sen. Hilary Clinton signed a pledge not to "campaign or participate" in the Michigan or Florida Democratic primaries. She participated in both primaries and is campaigning in Florida. Which proves, again, that Hilary Clinton is a liar."

Hilary's word: It's worth nothing
Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008

COURTING VOTERS in Iowa and New Hampshire, last August Sen. Hilary Clinton signed a pledge not to "campaign or participate" in the Michigan or Florida Democratic primaries. She participated in both primaries and is campaigning in Florida. Which proves, again, that Hilary Clinton is a liar.

Clinton kept her name on the Michigan ballot when others removed theirs, she campaigned this past weekend in Florida, and she is pushing to seat Michigan and Florida delegates at the Democratic National Convention. The party stripped those states of delegates as punishment for moving up their primary dates.

"I will try to persuade my delegates to seat the delegates from Michigan and Florida," Clinton said last week, after the New Hampshire primaries and Iowa caucuses were safely over.

Clinton coldly and knowingly lied to New Hampshire and Iowa. Her promise was not a vague statement. It was a signed pledge with a clear and unequivocal meaning.

She signed it thinking that keeping the other candidates out of Michigan and Florida was to her advantage, but knowing she would break it if that proved beneficial later on. It did, and she did.

New Hampshire voters, you were played for suckers.

This is simple a lie perpetuated by this article. Hillary Clinton did not actually campaign in Florida. The bases for this article and the accusation is that she made a statement saying she would visit Florida. She did so on the day of the primary only, where she made her speech.

I have asked for a date and time when Ms Clinton had actually campaigned there breaking her promise but nothing is available.....because it is not true.

Clinton's Lead Erodes, Obama Pulls More Edwards Support— On the Democratic side, Clinton leads Obama 43 percent to 34 percent, with John Edwards - who is expected to drop out today – at 14 percent. Clinton’s lead is down 17 points since Jan. 24. Again, if past history provides any clue, polling during the campaign in some states indicated that Obama was the second choice of many Edwards supporters.

I believe this is what started it all.

(Clinton) arrived in Florida on Sunday for two events - both closed fundraisers, in keeping with the pledge not to campaign.

"It is absolutely glorious," said Clinton. "It is a perfect day here in Florida." Earlier, Clinton said there's intense interest in the campaign in Florida, where early voting is heavy.

"Hundreds of thousands of people have already voted in Florida and I want them to know I will be there to be part of what they have tried to do to make sure their voices are heard," Clinton said. She will campaign in the state on Tuesday, but only after the polls have closed.

This is true.

New Gallup Poll: Obama cuts Clinton lead to 6 points

Hillary Clinton is leading Barack Obama by just 6 percentage points nationally in a new three-day Gallup tracking poll of the Democratic nomination race, 42%-36%.
"Obama's position has been strengthening on a day-by-day basis. As recently as Jan. 18-20, Clinton led Obama by 20 points," Gallup editor in chief Frank Newport reported.
Frank said the Jan. 27-29 poll came after Obama's big victory in South Carolina. Two of the three nights of polling were after Obama received endorsements from Caroline Kennedy and Sen. Edward Kennedy.
On the Republican side, John McCain had an 11-point lead over Mitt Romney, 32%-21%. McCain's victory in Florida came after the polling. Frank said tomorrow's numbers will reflect the Florida primary and the exits of Democrat John Edwards and Republican Rudy Giuliani.
Margin of error in these tracking polls is plus or minus 3 percentage points. For Frank's full report, click here.

Another example of how you can't believe a biased media. Hillary did NOT campaign in Florida.

Of course, we realize that facts aren't needed to attack Hillary.

I suggest that just saying "It isn't so" is not helping. No offense, but if we know something is true or is not true...we should back it up. Especially now.

You've already asked when she campaigned in Florida, with no response.

Hard to prove a negative. Seems it's their burden.

Hillary had three fundraisers in Florida, and the moment the polls closed she had a rally there (because technically fundraisers don't constitute campaigning, and they are allowed to campaign in Florida AFTER the primary.)

If Billary wanted Florida's votes to count, why did they side with the DNC to strip Florida of their delegates? Was it because they were WAY ahead in the polls at the time? Now that they aren't, they very much needed some momentum before Super Tuesday, so I guess the rules no longer apply.

Hillary intentionally used fundraisers as media events to give false hopes to Florida voters, saying "if you vote for me, I'll make sure your delegates count", which she has no authority to do. It's campaigning, plain and simple.

After the polls closed in South Carolina she couldn't stick around to make a decent concession speech and to thank her supporters for their hard work. I guess once they've served their purpose, her supporters are invisible to Hillary Clinton.
