I won't vote for Hillary either, and it really comes down to her vote for the War. Oh, I know, I know... She didn't vote for the war, she merely voted to authorise the war, which is completely different. She is running on the premise that she has experience and her judgement has been tested. Unfortunately, her judgement flunked the Iraq test. For that reason alone I believe she is unqualified to be President.

I won't vote for McCain, either, and I'm sceptical of Obama. I'll probably go third party.

Since your so distressed the Hillary supporters are letting the thread die, Winthrop addressed a lot of questions to you concerning your thread - you've never responded. No response.....let's see.... winthrop is right - according to your reasoning.

1) She co-sponsered an anti-flag burning ammendment. I love the flag as much as anyone else, I was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. However protecting the flag by way of a law or an ammendment to the constitution takes away from the meaning of the flag. The fact that she co-sponsered this legislation tells me she just doesn't get the symbolism of freedom behind the flag. Or perhaps she was just pandering to the chickenhawks. which is worse?

2) She has not run an honorable campaign against Sen. Obama. I expect it from the republicans, not from one of our own. Some of the dirty tricks were straight out of Karl Rove's playbook.

3) When the tide started to turn against her, the fangs came out. She acts like she is completely outraged at being denied something she obviously feels she was entitled.

4) She is playing towards people's fears. We as a country have never been at our best when we have operated from a mindset of fear. This is a very cynical way treating the electorate.

5) She voted to give Bush authority to send our troops to Iraq when a little bit of knowledge about the situation there would have told her Iraq was an unlikely base for Al Queda. She followed that up with voting for a similar piece of legislation reguarding Iran! Fool me once?

If Hillary Clinton becomes the Democratic nominee, I will be voting for McCain. If we as a party choose fear over hope then we deserve another 4-8 years of Bush's policies.
6) Don't forget her voting in favor of predatory lending and the credit card industry.

7) Also, read through her donor lists. Among them are many insurance companies [any surprise she proposes manditory private insurance as oppose to universal coverage, like a real country would]. She's even taken money from the usual right wing suspects, like coal and oil companies as well as pharmaceutical corporations.

I addressed Winthorp's bitching, a thousand times over, on various different threads. The poster above, who brought this thread back today, mentioned some points that none of you Hill sheep have responded to, yet. And, you're still ducking them.

Hillary is running a Karl Rove campaign. And, you guys have no problem with it. I'd drop Obama like a fucking brick if he were doing this shit. You guys are perfectly fine with destroying the Democratic party just to get a woman elected to the white house. If you get what you want, and you probably won't, but if you do, you'll have no idea what the long term price is. Very likely, a split in the Dem party creating a viable new 3rd party. Hillary's victory will be the last political victory you guys ever get. And, it's too late to turn back. She was warned not to run that 3am ad, and she'll now pay for it for the rest of her political life. She is truly fucked up.

Disagreeing with you, as well as correcting your misrepresentations, is not "bitching"...where would you get such terminology?
Oh, and please point out specifically where you "addressed" such matters...I would like to read those myself.

I'm 53, and old freak ( you know that word) too.
I think Hillary is a problem solver, and could really do well for America.
BUT i will vote for Obama; because to vote for McCain is to vote a MAJOR Neo-Con in.
100 years in Iraq??

Obama or McCain will be the next president, albeit probably McCain at this point. Nobody likes Hillary. Someone as shrill and annoying as her can never be president. And, her little fear mongering strategy takes her no further than tonight. This victory for the Hillary camp tonight will be their last, ever.

The Hippie Generation...

The same bunch of pricks who were throwing dog crap at returning soldiers from Vietnam because it was the "IN" thing to do, are now trying to outdo each other in proving how they care about our soldiers in Iraq. They are so afraid of "appearing" that they don't care about our troops that they keep giving Bush blank checks for military operations in Iraq. Sorry about the broad brush, some of the ideals behind the hippie movement were admirable, but some of what the hippie generation did to our soldiers returning from Vietnam was pretty dispicable. Troops that were DRAFTED and didn't really have much of a choice in the matter.
