Indeed it is. And it's going to either Obama or John McCain.

How so?

Let's start with you. What have you done in particular to help "change the world"? Are you sure you're not just repeating shit you've overheard from those Dennis Hopper Ameritrade commercials?

Quote:
some of us think for the better, helping bring women and other minorities out of the cages the previous eras had kept locked and sealed,
The Civil Rights Act was passed in 1964, before the hippie thing started.

Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr. helped change the world, in that regard. What bus did you take a stand on for a black person trying to sit in the front?

Were you out there getting sprayed with a fire hose by the Birmingham PD?

---------------------------------------------

I would like for Dr. Zaius to name one thing Obama has done to divide the country.

I would also like to remind Stillnoscript that I am an "aging hippie" who
proudly voted for Obama Tuesday and who will never vote for Hillary Clinton.

I feel the same way, I was originally thinking that if she gets the nod that I would go with McCain but I just can't bring myself to do it with his extremely pro war stance. If it comes down between her and McCain I will probably end up writing in my vote. Yay Edwards.

i'm an aging, (but beautiful - ha!) hippie, too!

i think we, as obama supporters, need to take his message of unity to heart, and perhaps tone down the attacks on clinton supporters to a more respectful level. let's save the vitriol for the people who deserve it much more. the neocons, who don't know the meaning of coming together and never will join the movement.

not only will adopting his tone be more effective, it's the right thing to do.

people can't think straight when they are being viciously attacked.
let's give them the room to back up and re-evaluate, and make more well-thought-out decisions about what's truly best for the whole country... more polarity? or more unity?

i think you're backing clinton supporters into a corner that they can't get out of even if what your saying is valid...

of course, everyone's free to ignore my advice!

When I am sickened and appalled by: 1) Hillary ridiculing Obama because he said he wanted to be president when he was in kindergarten; 2) Hillary marginalizing Marin Luther Kng's role in the
civil rights movement; 3) a Hillary operative disingenuously making an
issue of Obama's admitted drug experimentatin; 4) Bll Clinton trying
to marginalize Obama by saying that Jesse Jackson even won
South Carolina -- and when I state my reaction to these egregious campaign tactics which fly in the face of everything that I believe in
as a Democrat, I am not attacking Hillary supporters here. I am
pointing out what Hillary has done in her unbecoming, greedy lust for the presidency. And I am pointing out why I will be unable to vote for her.

(I should perhaps add that I was torn between Edwards and Obama before Edward suspended his campaign, and that I voted for Bill Clinton twice.)

I entertained a fleeting thought about voting for McCain because I do believe he has a modicum of integrity -- but I cannot vote for anyone who is joined at the hip with Joe Lieberman.

They've called us naive.

They've called us children (despite all of us being adults).

They've accused us of playing the race card, for merely mentioning race (when Hillary has been playing the gender card her entire political life...)

They've mocked us to no end for having dreams of change in Washington.

I've had it to here. I'm writing Barack Obama in, rather he's on the ballot or not, in November.

I know I won't be alone. I know there are a lot of Obama supporters that have had to endure this pretentious bullshit from these aging know it all hippies for the past year.

Also, considering Hillary is obviously bullshitting us on Iraq and will certainly keep us there just as McCain would, how much worse would a vote for McCain be than a vote for Hillary?
Obviously your skin is too thin for political rhetoric and you are naive to believe only one candidate participates in it.

And it's simply amazing that YOU know what Hillary will do about Iraq, in spite of what she has publicly stated--just amazing that you have such powers.

Voting is a personal privilege and if you wish to throw your votes to Republicans, then knock yourself out. But I will comment about your stubbornness and arrogance in that if you don't get exactly what you want, then you'll jump ship--great loyalty.

No wonder so many are commenting on how Democrats are too stupid to grab the moment and will instead go down in flames--this is a prime example of the fractious behavior that serves no purpose other than failure to the party...

I know what she's done versus what she says.

It about electing a candidate that represents you...not "loyalty"...loyalty is probably the worst reason to vote for somebody

Good...I hope the democratic and the republican parties fail. Don't need them, don't want them.

and by toning down the attacks, it makes a sharp contrast when her supports say things like this!
