That's where those 'uninsured' peoples healthcare is being impacted - in YOUR bill. Thanks to that policy, those without insurance don't have a prayer of paying out of pocket as they too get $20 aspirins and such. That cost is spread amongst all patients. Not coming out of your pocket because of your insurance? You or your company (whomever is providing the money for that insurance) are paying higher premiums. If that's you, it's out of pocket. If it's your company, that's income you're not getting as it's going against the profit line. Take the premiums out of your check (or take home pay if you buy your own) and you make more money. Take the premiums for malpractice out of the Drs. profit and he can lower his price. Take the premiums for malpractice out of the hospital and they can lower their price. Now the patient has more money (no premiums) and the hospital and doctor aren't collecting for their own premiums and give much greater prices. Now that those three payments don't go to the insurance the over-all cash advantage to the patient is great. Now we can universally spread those payments through taxes or whatever and you're paying (or your company) for your coverage alot less than you're paying now. It was stealing when it was hidden, now it's truly universal.

Or do you also think that because your house hasn't been robbed that you shouldn't have to pay for police, because the government is stealing from you to help those damn victims? In your America, before the fire department puts out your house fire they'll run a credit check or run your ATM.
