Oh...here's something from a planet named C-a-l-i-f-o-r-n-i-a-

As California continues to grapple with the spate of terrible wildfires - and new reports that some residents will face hardships for weeks to come, including polluted air, no electricity and no drinking water - it's time to ask if the interminable war in Iraq depleted resources that would have helped the firefighting effort.

Like every other state, California has experienced a sharp diversion of its National Guard and major equipment shortages that Guard officials themselves have said hinder their ability to respond to a major disaster.

The Chronicle reported that the Guard was missing about $1 billion in equipment, including scores of military trucks and Humvees that could be used for transport. Guard guidelines recommend having 39 diesel generators and 1,410 Global Positioning Satellite devices, but there were none on hand, the Chronicle noted.

Another reason for making those tax cuts permanent, huh?

WEll I am for smaller government. But spare no expense on our self defense. Let's cut government back to the bone and reduce taxes.

Doesn't this all count?
Not that it will alter your lack of reasoning in the least.

I'm glad the truth is known, but does anyone else get the feeling like we're "aiding the enemy" when news like this is released to the world? Or, looking at it from the opposite angle, do you feel like this is a good thing since it could/should force the leaders to withdraw at least some troops, so we do have soldiers on the side in case something does happen? And, do you think this admin even cares?

And we would agree....but you can't lay all the pressure on the middle class, while we're spending countless billions on this war.

The waste in military spending is documented history. But you rich folk obviously aren't doing your part in this supply side economics. This is evident, now that giving the working class $300.00 each is going to save our economy.

Let's stop the no bid contracts, misplacing of countless billions, etc., and then you wealthy types can enjoy your tax cuts.

Eman's reasoning is second to none for his logic comes from an immutable source. The poster is trying to link our terrorist hunt to a lack of resources to take care of issues at home. Yet the examples he or she made made no sense. You defense of the nonsensical postulation reflects badly on you.

Well the poor will alwys be among us. I just hope to not be one of them.

I like Huckabee's Fair Tax. Any wasted military spending is lining some American company's pocket and creating jobs somewhere (hopefully in America). You oppose he war but make an irrational connection between it and other domestic matters. They re not related.
