first. it was asked about my #800 operator job / security and the like.
I answered in the " corner bar" section - but here is the gist of it.

sure. both criminal and credit checks. ( which i had to pay for )

Then voice and comprehension tests.

All calls are recorded, and subject to monitoring ( and they do monitor).

We're rated on various performance levels, both sales and customer service oriented.

I bitch a lot - but i love the job.

Midnight - i couldn't sleep = so i logged on and made about $10 this hour.

here's how it works for a call

a call comes in, and the scripts pop up on my screen

We must use a corded landline - no cordles - so transmissions of secure data can be intercepted.

Have to use a headset -no speakerphones, so the information is audible.

I go through the offers - they give me the billing and creditcard info - it's all typed by me on a screen..
End of call i review their totals, and get a verbal acceptance of the charges.

Both parties hang up.

I disposition the call ( order/ customer service - prank -hung up midcall etc)
then I press "end call" and the info is rtansmitted bac to our server.

The screens disappear, until the next call, with that particular offer.

Now I am starting to make OUTGOING political survey calls.
No particular campaigns - LiveOps does survey calls for lots of national. and local campaigns.


I log on
Predictive dialer * beeps * when someone answers.

I ID myself, and go thru the survey.
Before i do i qualify the person.
Over 18. registed to vote. and ask head of household. and demographics on some calls.

Some are simple " get out the vote" some ask for info from the caller, on their political issues
( "on a scale of 1-10 ; how do you rate these issues as important to you / 1 being not important 10 being most important " )

Then i go thru the survey.
then the call ends

I disposion the call as usual, hit " transmit" the call / then i wait till the next " beep" which is another person picking up.

At the end of my shift i check my "no webs" to see if any data was not automatically transmitted.
If so, the Quicktime recorded voices of me and the surveyee plays, and I go thru the call like it was live - filling out the screens.

This way all data i collect is double checke that it made it back to the server.

It's cool - no selling

it's fun. the only thing different ( aside from not selling)
is I have to be available a certain % of time allocated for
Political Outbound callling.

The campaigns might decide to do a last minute " get out the vote" campaign, or want a suvey done.

So I have to commit to being available on a short time notification basis, for at least 25% of the total campaigns.
It's not something I'd wanna do all the time, but for an election year change of pace, it's ok.
