Bush Addresses "These Accusations That Bill Clinton Is A Racist"

Sweet, a Bush endorsement

Quote:
Bush Addresses "These Accusations That Bill Clinton Is A Racist" - Politics on The Huffington Post

Mr. Bush offered his thoughts not only on Mr. McCain, but also on the other remaining Republican candidate, Mike Huckabee, and the Democrats as well. He also defended former President Bill Clinton, who has been accused of playing on racial sentiments by attacking Mrs. Clinton's opponent, Senator Barack Obama of Illinois.

"I can understand why President Clinton wants to campaign hard for his wife," Mr. Bush said. "And you know, these accusations that Bill Clinton is a racist I think is just wrong. I just don't agree with it."
Mr. Bush did not stick with his earlier prediction that Mrs. Clinton would win.

"I predicted Senator Clinton because I knew that she understands the klieg lights and understands the pressures," he said, adding, "And that race seems far from over to me."

After Katrina, Bush insisting that Clinton is not a racist carries about as much credibility as Dick Cheney saying that Karl Rove doesn't lie.

Klieg lights? As a writer, I give my respect to all involved with choosing this statement.

Yes, it takes some very clever distorting of his words to make him look like one.

unfortunately, that's not the problem.

the problem is bill was stupid to make statements that could (and DID) insult blacks. whether he meant it to or not is not the question!
the question is how could he have been soooo fucking dumb to utter such things in the first place.

and with regard to bush coming to his defense, naturally, since the right would rather run against hillary than obama (this is not in question - they openly and fully admit it!) is it any surprise that bush would attempt to defend bill?

no it doesn't! good grief!

what it takes is very clever defending of the fact that he was dumb enough to make those statements!
