MSNBC - For Clinton, Ohio, Texas emerge as must-wins
I guess you can't blame her for trying to pretend that she expected to lose those states and blowing it off like they don't count. In reality it's hurting her campaign pretty bad though.
For Clinton, Ohio, Texas emerge as must-wins - The New York Times - MSNBC.com Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and her advisers increasingly believe that, after a series of losses, she has been boxed into a must-win position in the Ohio and Texas primaries on March 4, and she has begun reassuring anxious donors and superdelegates that the nomination is not slipping away from her, aides said Monday. Mrs. Clinton held a buck-up-the-troops conference call on Monday with donors, superdelegates and other supporters; several of them said afterward that she sounded tired and a little down, but determined about Ohio and Texas. And these donors and superdelegates said that they were not especially soothed, saying they believed she could be on a losing streak that could jeopardize her competitiveness in Ohio and Texas. “She has to win both Ohio and Texas comfortably, or she’s out,” said one Democratic superdelegate who has endorsed Mrs. Clinton, and who spoke on condition of anonymity to share a candid assessment. “The campaign is starting to come to terms with that.” Campaign advisers, also speaking privately in order to speak plainly, confirmed this view.

Agreed. These are must wins - no doubt about it. The demographics favor her there - so she need to win her base.

I wonder how much money Obama is throwing into those two states. I would think he needs to be bombarding them to get an edge on Hillary.

Still, Mr. Obama’s financial edge allowed him to begin running television ads in Ohio and Texas on Monday, while the Clinton campaign plans to begin advertising on Tuesday. Mrs. Clinton advisers say that she will have ads running statewide in both Ohio and Texas, and that she will have ads in English and Spanish in Texas. |

I view it a little differently. They are must wins for Obama to put an end to this, no? If she does win these states comfortably, then won't she have the "momentum?" Won't we be back to a "dead heat?"
