That's still very possible.

Why is it that people supporting a man who's basic platform is "uniting" us are so opposed to uniting behind her if she's the nominee?

Isn't that a contradiction of beliefs?
It's not so much that I am pro Obama as much as it is that I am anti Hillary. To me, it feels like the same old stuffy school prinicipal that's been there for an eternity is remaining there for another term. Nothing changes, same old shit that clings to old school rules on everything.

Obama offers a change from that, please don't ask how, just go to his site for these answers. It's not so much issues, because they are very similar on them it's more how you believe things will be handled. Obama thinks outside the box and brings a fresh perspective to the game.

Those who actually want something different will vote for Obama, those who fear change and like things just the way they are and have been will vote for Hillary, why do you think she's so popular with older people? Just my .02 on it.

I have been away and just saw the story on HuffPo this morning that
Edwards might endorse Hillary.

I lost respect for Kerry for endorsing Obama rather than Edwards,
but I will lose all respect for Edwards if he endorses Hillary.
Edwards and Clinton had a meeting last week -- makes you wonder what she promised him.

Staying neutral and letting his supporters make their own choice is admirable, but if he really feels he can honestly endorse one of them and make a difference, then I can respect that too. Who knows what he'll do? Those 40 delegates could help either of them, but he's got to maintain some kind of moral consistency.
It would be a shame to not have Edwards involved at some high level, and with it a chance down the road to become president. This would indicate the VP position for him.

Edwards got to where he is today by running with idiot Kerry, and IMO it was Kerry's idiocy that lost the race--had nothing to do with Edwards. As a VP candidate it would surely have a positive impact for whichever candidate he aligns himself with against McCain. If he makes the best and right choice, for all the correct reasons, and they go on to win, this will be major redemption for Edwards, not only from his own perspective, but also from that of his supporters...

I would be so fucking sad if he endorsed Clinton.

Frankly, I do not think he will -- she is too entrenched, too politics-as-usual, and I think that outweighs his apprehension about Obama's toughness, readiness, and his dissatisfaction with the no-mandate aspect of Obama's health care plan.

There are polls out this morning showing Clinton with double-digit leads in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Edwards could really really help cut these down over the next couple weeks stumping around those two states. Lots of layed off workers up that way...

I know that there is a lot of disbelief on the Hillary side because it was a given at the beginning of this campaign that she would be the nominee. For you it was impossible to imagine a black man transcending race. We are uniting just not behind your candidate. I hope Hillary does do what is best for the nation when she does not do what it takes in Tx or Ohio. It is the only thing she can do to salvage her dignity.
I wish you'd stop putting your words into my typing.

Way back when, I said Hillary nor Rudy, would likely be the nominees, simply because going wire to wire is very rare.

I know a lot of black people who are able to transcend race. I know a lot of white people who can't.

As to what happens in the states that haven't voted, why don't we let them vote, then see where we are.

Reference:

In the past four presidential elections, the following states have voted Republican:

Alaska, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Indiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina.

States carrying three out of the past four elections by Republicans are:

Montana, Colorado, Arizona, Georgia and Florida.

States that lean either Republican or Democrat in the last four elections:

Nevada, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia.

These next comments are not about voting for or against Obama or Clinton...they're just rhetorical questions;

Has any president in recent history won the race WITHOUT winning the votes in many of these RED states?

Will the RED states consider voting for a woman or Black over a Republican?

Can any Democratic position on Iraq bring more voters than the McCain patriotism-motherhood-apple pie-POW-terrorism fear tactics?

In the final Dem/Rep presidential debates, McCain will look directly into the camera and say 'Folks, do you want your taxes raised...if so...vote Democratic'.

Does anyone expect the Republican whisper-campaign to begin when Rove and/or his lieutenants start asking this question; Do you actually want a woman or a Black man running your country?

Depending on how you might answer the above questions, and other similar questions, I believe the '08 presidential battle is currently favoring the Republicans. No matter if it's Obama or Clinton, the Dems need to find unity, and unless there is an Obama or Clinton landslide on March 4th, the Dems won't be able to unite until after the convention late in August; Republicans are uniting today around McCain.

For those who believe '08 is a cakewalk for the Democrats...be careful.

For those who are filled with hatred towards either Obama or Clinton...be careful what you do.

For those who don't vote...it's time to vote.
