What really matters in life...
Whether it's Mudwhistle plagiarizing some of my words, or The Heretic raging like a bull, or Teri B being sweet and logical, or JDanton testing other's patience, or Kanadesaga using his finely tuned vocabulary to set someone straight, or OldManOnFire just being an Old Man On Fire, this video might help explain what really matters most in life;

Some of you may remember March 21, about 13 years ago, the murder of four and attemped murder of one in the Watchung Plaza Post Office in Montcliar NJ was on the national news. I was Chief steward of the Montclair Post Office at the time. March 21, ten years later, after I had the retired, the Post office had a small event in memory of the people lost there. The Postmaster's intention was not to include any retirees, but clerks and carriers both insisted that I be invited. I can't tell you how proud that made me. I remember what I said. The two clerks, Scottie and Ernie, who died that day were so totally different in personalities that 11 years ago it would have been challenging to include the two of them in the same sentence. Now we cannot think of one without thinking of the other. While their deaths were shocking, and made headlines across the nation, as I'm about to turn 61, the list of people I know that I've out lived grows at a sobering rate. Without headlines, we, in this building have lost a number of young people. We've lost them to medical problems such as cancer and sugar, we've lost them to car accidents, and we even lost one 34 year old that cause of death was never determined. At least a dozen of my coworkers didn't see their 50th birthday. While not as newsworthy, all were just as tragic as those murdered. At least, with the murders, we can hold someone responsible. I say this to say that there are approximately 200 people employed here. Not all of whom get along well or like each other. You do not know, however, which of you will not be here tomorrow, and my advice is to treat each other accordingly. I found during the following week several carriers stopped by to thank me for my marvelous words. Made me even prouder.
