apologizing for calling a spade a spade!

i understand why she's apologizing to obama - but applaud her for telling the truth. if clinton doesn't want to be called a monster, she should stop behaving like one. during this primary campaign, she HAS become everything i despise, she DOES embody everything that's wrong with politics in this country, and given what's at stake in the most important election of our lives - in my book, that's a monster.

Obama adviser says Clinton "a monster"

By DAVID STRINGER, Associated Press Writer 50 minutes ago

LONDON - An adviser to Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama apologized Friday for telling a Scottish newspaper that rival Hillary Rodham Clinton is "a monster."

Samantha Power, a foreign policy adviser to Obama's presidential campaign and Pulitzer Prize winner, was quoted in remarks she later attempted to retract as saying in The Scotsman newspaper that Clinton was stooping to low tactics to recover ground in the race to win the party's presidential nomination.

The Harvard professor is quoted as telling the newspaper Obama's team had been disappointed with Clinton's campaign win in Ohio on Tuesday.

"In Ohio, they are obsessed and Hillary is going to town on it, because she knows Ohio's the only place they can win," Power is quoted as saying. "She is a monster, too — that is off the record — she is stooping to anything."

Power issued a statement Friday in which she acknowledged the comments but said she "deeply regretted them."

"It is wrong for anyone to pursue this campaign in such negative and personal terms," she said in the statement. "I apologize to Senator Clinton and to Senator Obama, who has made very clear that these kinds of expressions should have no place in American politics."

Obama's spokesman Bill Burton said in an e-mail: "Senator Obama decries such characterizations which have no place in this campaign."

Though Power immediately attempted to withdraw the remark, the newspaper insisted she had agreed in advance that her interview — part of a book tour — would be conducted on the record.

"You just look at her and think, 'Ergh'," Power is quoted as telling the newspaper. "But if you are poor and she is telling you some story about how Obama is going to take your job away, maybe it will be more effective. The amount of deceit she has put forward is really unattractive."

In a separate interview for Britain's left-leaning New Statesman magazine, published Thursday, Power warned Clinton's campaign against reveling in the trial of an Obama donor Antonin "Tony" Rezko on corruption charges.

"I don't think it's a good idea for the Clintons to get into a competition over who's got the most unsavory donations, you know what I mean?" Power was quoted as telling the magazine.

I think it is very telling that people within the inner circle know that she is being despicable. This is not politics as usual. Attacking your own party this way. I think Powers was kind, I can think of a lot worse to call Hillary.

Conduct unbecoming, no question. How does that square with the whole Commander-in-Chief thing?

I feel obliged...literally, I sense it is my civic duty...to quickly and continually add that Hillary Clinton being beneath contempt does NOT canonize Barack Obama a saint.

No one is canonizing Barack. We are saying she does not represent us.
These are words of he media and repug pundits who are trying to grasp at anything to bring him down. It scares them that a man was able to mobilize and motivate the youth of this country.

The reason Samantha Powre should apologize is for failing to be specific.

It is inconceivable to me that anyone still stands in support of the Clintons.

So you think the Republicans would rather run against Clinton than Barack, just to mix up the usual one-namers? I have a sense that the Republicans would rather run against Obama.

SOMEONE'S startin' to go after him, there's no doubt about that. But WHO? If the Republicans would rather run against the woman, it would be the media and the right-is-wrong crowd. If, however, the Republicans would rather run against the black man, it would be the left-is-wrong-too crowd, yes?

You bet it does. It particularly scares them that he is mobilizing blacks. Black youth, double trouble.

The Ruling Elite, AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE OF PRIVILEGE, are already afraid of blacks. That's why they live safely removed from them, and why they lock so many of them up. The Establishment has never much liked Youth, and vice versa...it's almost their jobs.

i totally agree with veronica that NO one is canonizing barack. the only people suggesting such a thing are hillary supporters. barack admits he's human, that he makes mistakes, etc. i'd rather have that kind of "character" in the white house than a egotistical politically psychopathic nasty bitch ANY day.

if she thinks the world is going to welcome her with open arms after all this and be able to heal our global relations, if she thinks she's going to be able to unite the country behind her, if she thinks she's going to be able to accomplish a diddly damn thing using these kinds of politics, she's even sicker than i ever imagined.

and that goes double for her supporters.

you are either honorable, or your NOT.
and she demonstrates EVERY day that she's the latter.

she's OBVIOUSLY scum who doesn't REALLY care about america, and i've decided that i will NOT vote for her. if she somehow manages to lie, smear and litigate herself into this nomination - i'll be staying home from the polls for the first time in my life.

and i honestly NEVER DREAMED that i'd say THAT in my lifetime!

yes. but i understand WHY she feels she has to apologize to barack, who's really trying desperately to fix what's WRONG in this country by elevating the politics in this country. the people desperately want a leader to do this. and that's why he's WINNING the primaries - whether hillary supporters "get the concept" or not!

the whole world is watching this closely.
they see.

if her supporters don't get a clue, if the super delegates don't act soon to stop this blood bath, we're going down the toilet.

Not true. I was on the Are You Fucking Kidding Me anti-one-name-like-a-star Hillary bandwagon before it even had wheels.

Hmmm. An improvement, no question. He does, however, admit some of them only after they are exposed...the old sorry I got caught syndrome. The real estate deal on his personal property...the grounds on which he and his family dwell in considerable comfort and security...DOES involve some shady dealing. I believe I heard the word "bone-headed" by way of acknowledgment of error. He didn't see it as bone-headed back in the day?

Like I say, an improvement certainly. But Barack Obama's looking none too humble when he trots onto the stage and just stands there, with a satisfied smile, before Beatle-like adoration. Who could NOT be impacted by such frenzied approval?

Who I'd REALLY rather have in the White House is someone who recognizes and avoids shady, bone-headed deals in the first place. NEXT, I'd prefer someone who comes into a race laying all that shit on the table at the get-go...you know, so we don't get bushwhacked down the road. What, like people aren't going to dig through your garbage, your dirty laundry and your past? He doesn't know this? Tell me again how smart he is.

She's not sicker than I imagined. I have said from Day One that, based only on the Serial Infidelity in which she was complicit, she is either damaged goods or she is so frighteningly ambitious as to be EXACTLY who we don't want in the White House.

There aren't many who are doubly low as the Clintons, except other Family Dynasties. That is very often how they get to be so high up, by being willing to go so damn low. That is why it amazes me that anyone gives a shit who the Kennedy's endorse.

Unbelievable, am I right, how quickly and how much this is deteriorating? Brief WEEKS ago, you were undaunted by car trouble and weather conditions...prevailed upon a neighbor, so determined were you to express your civic sentiments.

How many A.D.D. youth will sustain their Democratic devotion in light of all the bullshit, do you think?

BREAKING NEWS:
samantha power is resigning from the obama campaign.

for telling the truth.
now THAT'S character.
she'd rather leave the campaign than damage what obama's trying to do - despite the fact that she was RIGHT ON THE MONEY!

regarding the A.D.D. youth - they will be completely crushed if hillary wins the nomination, not only them, but people of all ages and stripes who've found a voice that speaks for them. if she smears, litigates and lies her way into this nomination, i'm afraid the country IS, IN FACT, DOOMED.

start learning chinese!

regarding his admissions that he's made mistakes. i beg to differ. he has said from the get go that he's made mistakes! and that he'll continue to make mistakes. he's said it in speeches that were not related to any trumped up scandal.

and say what you want, but i don't think EVEN you canonize him.
you recognize that he's not a saint, that NO one is perfect.

AND YOU'RE RIGHT.
THIS IS EFFECTING ME.
if hillary wins this by dirt, i will seriously consider leaving the country.
because if she gets away with this it truly means the country HAS lost it's soul.
it means that slime truly DOES rule this country.
it means there is NO hope for it ever changing.

hillary is NOT change.
she's just more of the same shit sandwich we've had shoved down our throat all these years.
nothing will change.

and it's time to go find a better country.
one that doesn't turn my stomach.
