LOL. Right now, I think the current state of the dem party would lead me to believe they couldn't beat John McCain with Barney the purple dinosaur as his running mate.

Democrats can't even agree-read-that-get-their-shit-together on a standard bearer, but it will be easy for them to beat Republican Masters of Machinery?

Democrats are imploding BEFORE they are even in a contest with Republicans, who have ALREADY rallied behind one white male war hero candidate. Nothing about this is going to be easy, I think.

The real question here is the McCain/Bush ticket. There's already some talk in liberal CA that McCain can take the state this year. McCain will grab all the red states and Jeb can help with Independents and conservatives and Bush fans.

Dems are foolish to believe a slam-dunk! Maybe Bill Clinton was right when he said a Clinton/Obama ticket would be nearly unstoppable. It might take this for the Dems to win in '08...

Good question. The amendments that would be used for this only pertain to the President directly. A scenario of this sort would have to go before the judiciary. Pretty safe bet that , like the notion of Bill Clinton being Hillary's VP, the courts would be negative in their interpretation.

No. The VP must be qualified to be prez.

The Twelfth Amendment to the United States Constitution requires the vice president to meet the same eligibility requirements as the president. That is, the vice president must be at least 35 years of age, have been born a citizen of the United States, and have been a resident of the U.S. for at least the 14 years preceding election.

Actually, it doesn't. It's been assumed that it does, but it specifically addresses these items for Presidential qualifications only. It's always been taken for granted that , due to succession, it covers the VP. It most likely will, but until it's been before the courts it does not.

Not true. The VP has to be ready to be prez in an instant, like Johnson was with Kennedy.

Sounds right....people here can interpret it how they want....but like you said...it doesn't mean squat until the courts do.
