I think McCain is smart enough to know that the country is tired of Bush....enough so that Jeb would be a silly choice. My bet is that he'll try to pick somebody moderate to stem the bleeding of moderates leaving the party.

You forget that in very recent history that American voters elected insane-Bush not once but twice!!!!

If you have studied Jeb Bush, and heard him speak, you will know that he is a good orator and intelligent. HE DID NOT COME FROM THE SAME GENE POOL AS HIS INSANE BROTHER!! While most of us despise anything Bush, tens of millions of Republicans and lots of Independents will vote for the name.

Let's see what unfolds...

I didn't say that he wasn't intelligent...just that people are bush weary. I disagree with the notion that independents would somehow be drawn to him.

And yes, people voted for George twice...but that was 4 years ago....alot has changed.

It's too easy for dems to win, no matter who he picks. All you have to do is flash thinly-veiled homo-erotic material to psych them out. The fascist complex comes from women, so male fascists are slightly more gay (although, much more closeted and homophobic) than communists.

interesting choice.
He was popular here ( Fl. ) as governor, even among Dem.s

Also he IS a true conservative, which McCain needs to solidify his base.

I don't think Jeb wants it however.

I haven't heard Jeb's name mentioned. Rob Portman is one that keeps coming up. He's a lot younger and very knowledgeable on the economy.

McCain does not need Jeb because Florida is so fucking backwards that we shouldn't even let them vote anymore. They fucked up in 2000. Then Ohio fucked up in 2004. Then Florida fucked up again in 2008. Maybe the salt has infiltrated that Everglades swamp water and they are drinking it or something. But electorially, Florida is worse than a fucking embarassment. Now they are fucking around with a redo. They'll fuck that up too. So Jeb brings nothing to the table except the taint of Florida.

I didn't say that you said he was not intelligent...just pointing out he's no George Bush...Sr or Jr!!

I'm not sure people are as much Bush-weary as you believe? Besides he would be a VP which cuts the Bush name issue some slack. And you surely must believe he is being groomed to become president.

Just my theory...

Glad you have some experience with him to share. I've watched him a few times in ad-lib situations and he did quite well.

Jeb is being groomed to become president and what better way than to be around when 70 or 80 year old McCain kicks the bucket?

It makes perfect sense to me...
