Little Girl from Bosnia Scandal Shocked, "Surprised" by Clinton's Lie

The Bosnian girl who famously read a poem to Hillary Rodham Clinton during her 1996 visit to the war-torn country is shocked - and her countrymen infuriated - that the former first lady claimed to have dodged sniper fire that day.

Emina Bicakcic, now 20 and studying to become a doctor, told The Post she stood on the tarmac at the air base in Tuzla, greeted Clinton and even had time to share the lines of verse she'd written - all without fear of attack from an unseen enemy.

It is astonishing that Hillary didn't think this lie would be exposed, considering the number of witnesses there were to the events. It makes me think she must be detached from reality to some extent.

She is like the rest of the old time politicians who think they can get away with anything. They feel like the "sheep" they talk at will believe anything, even after it has been proven false.

After listening to some of her supporters here and to GWB's for the past 7 years you have to admit that to some extent they are right.

To be honest, I can understand delusional lapses. I once told someone I'd arrive at their house in 15 minutes when the drive would take 40 because I was late and I really wanted to be there that fast. I don't know what got into me. I suppose I thought I could sprout wings and fly. When confronted with my folly my buddies wife called it for what it was...delusional.

She was right.

I'd hope for more from a president. I've read a few things that suggest an orthodoxy to Obama that belies the cool, change-prone exterior and don't know what to make of them...lapses, incomplete policy positions...I don't know. I wouldn't call them delusional though.

I'm voting for him but will support either before McBush.

You didn't remember being shot at when you weren't, though. Imagining snipers that aren't there is a few steps farther from reality than underestimating your travel time.

Still, I don't think Hillary is delusional. I just think she's a compulsive liar, like her hubby. They don't just lie when it suits their purposes; they lie just because they can, even when it stands to hurt them.

I think Kana is right...besides, the sniper bullshit was in her prepared remarks, and she kept on repeating it after it had been debunked in the press.

I read some column recently which made the case that marrying a narcissist turns you into a liar, sort of buying into the disfunction in a co-dependant way.

Kind of psycho-babble, but it sort of made sense. I'll try to find it again...

• She was under sniper fire in Bosnia. (A girl presented her with flowers at the foot of the ramp.)
• She learned in The Wall Street Journal how to make a killing in the futures market. (It didn't cover the market back then.)

Whoppers She Won't Confess To

• She didn't know about the FALN pardons.
• She didn't know that her brothers were being paid to get pardons that Clinton granted.
• Taking the White House gifts was a clerical error.
• She didn't know that her staff would fire the travel office staff after she told them to do so.
• She didn't know that the Peter Paul fundraiser in Hollywood in 2000 cost $700,000 more than she reported it had.
• She opposed NAFTA at the time.
• She was instrumental in the Irish peace process.
• She urged Bill to intervene in Rwanda.
• She played a role in the '90s economic recovery.
• The billing records showed up on their own.
• She thought Bill was innocent when the Monica scandal broke.
• She was always a Yankees fan.
• She had nothing to do with the New Square Hasidic pardons (after they voted for her 1,400-12 and she attended a meeting at the White House about the pardons).
• She negotiated for the release of refugees in Macedonia (who were released the day before she got there).

I have little doubt that being married to Bill Clinton would do a serious number on a woman's mind. Staying married to him after he humiliates you in front of the world, even more so.
