I've received extremely angry responses over the past months by simply asking questions that I believe are quite relevant to this campaign.

It's easy for a politician to form a consensus when the subject at hand has general agreement. The challenge is in uniting people who hold severely different opinions, like on abortion. I ask how Obama plans to unite those people, and his supporters get nasty.

I ask how mandates can be good if we're mandating parents to buy healthcare for their children, but mandates are bad if they mandate people to buy healthcare for themselves. I ask why it matters if it's affordable enough so everyone will voluntarily buy it. I get angry responses.

My view has, all along, been consistant. The stated goals of Obama and Clinton that fall within the province of the federal government are virtually identical. In that either of them, if elected, will have the same congressional make-up, there chances of success are quite similar.

When Obama starts making promises that God himself can't keep, I have a problem. Those who expect him to keep this promises will have a bigger problem.

All of this is out of our hands now, unless the state we live in hasn't voted. We don't know what other "shoes" will drop over the next couple of months.

Everyone on these boards will, I suspect, prefer supreme court nominees presented by Obama or Clinton over those presented by McCain.

I sincerely believe Clinton or Obama will address getting us out of Iraq, fixing our economy, improving our healthcare, moving us off oil, etc.....

I simply find it arrogant at this time for anyone to be asking either candidate to pull out. Let the people vote. Let the super delegates do their job if/when they are needed, then let's try to put a democrat in the White House next year.

The people who've supported Hillary and the people who've supported Obama ought not be enemies to one another.

Obama today made an interesting, and honest, remark, but it didn't go far enough. The candidates can't do anything, as candidates, about gas prices.

I wonder what the president CAN do about gas prices. Record profits and record high prices at the pump.

If the government cuts subsidies, prices will go up. If more oil fields are open for drilling, cost of drilling will drive prices up.

Why isn't that a topic here?
The bolded part is all that matters.

The post you quoted was not for you so it is not for you to understand.

what i find increasingly interesting about this primary season is all the precedent being set...it's like we're all just learning how to walk again, for instance, florida and michigan....all candidates agreed to the terms set forth by the dnc several months in advance with not one syllable uttered at the time about possible disenfranchisement, it was only after a certain candidate found a harder time than expected was anything mentioned...

now, the rhetoric is turning to "let's wait and see what happens after the last states vote"...really? can anyone tell me when the last time, before now of course, any candidate cared one way or another about the outcome of the elections in later states? granted this race is theoretically close, in media spin anyway, and normally those who were more mathematically out of it had already realised and accepted their fate by dropping from the race...that is not the case here, as we are all too aware...still, the precedent is amazing...

You have been repeatedly banned on this site for your personal attacks on other users, not for disagreeing with anyone. I can count on one hand how many people I've actually had to ban in the entire time this site has been opened and most of them have been your usernames. Yet I continue to let you register new names and post. Consider yourself lucky.

Neither candidate has a clear shot at sufficient delegates.

Let's let the voters finish their job, then let the superdelegates, if needed, do their job.

Aren't those the rules? The same people, it seems, who have been so concerned about playing by the rules insofar as Florida and Michigan are concerned, seem to want to by-pass the rules insofar as the superdelegates are concerned.

It's unlikely that they would steal this from Obama if he's ahead significantly in pledged delegates (via voting) and popular vote.

However, if super delegates vote the way their STATE voted, Kennedy, Kerry, and a number of others would have to switch their support, and the math may look differently.

I make no predictions, other than at some point in the near future we will have a nominee, and some of us will support that nominee whomever it is.

I hold no grudges or antaganism toward anyone for holding opinions different than mine. It's disappointing that in a land where freedom of speech is held in such high regard, that so little regard for it survives on these boards.

It is time to put our egoes behind our country and support the candidate that is not mcCain.
JD---Just curious..........

Are you at all aware of the fact that for the last 30 years NO primary campaign went the full course? Not republican or democrat.

Thus any asshole boo hooing about voter disenfranchisement of any state or by not completing all primaries without a Nominee for the general is either mental retarded or a lying piece of shit who KNOWS this and is trying to create feigned outrage over nothing---JUST LIKE HILLARY IS!

I don't

You are a lying POS dog. Want me to post the PM you sent me as "GuitarWizardsuxcocks"? A poster, "guitarWizard" who, the BTW hasn't been back here since you harangued him. You are a foul and vile human being. Why eric allows you to repeatedly come back is beyond me, but it is his board and he can do what he wants. and I can list those names of banned because thay are all on my ignore list, as this new name will be shortly. You have no redeeming qualities whatsoever. This "oh I'm just trying learn new shit" doesn't fly with me. I know the real you. You will attack again you always do. You will always make racist and especially sexist remarks. You are a pathetric to keep coming back where you are not wanted.

I asked him if he remembered any primaries in his lifetime in which
every state's votes mattered. He did not respond, of course.

I told him that the Clintons know they are lying when they say every
primary vote counts, but that they count on stooges like him to
believe them.

A lie is not an opinion.
