How To Get A Woman In The White House

Posted March 28, 2008

Okay. I give in. I've got two ovaries and a uterus, a husband, three kids and seven grandchildren. I should have known better, but I've betrayed my own kind; my Feminist-First-and-Foremost Friends have finally convinced me. It is time for a woman in the White House. A smart woman. A real woman.

I like men just fine. My husband's a really nice guy. I've got a son and grandsons I adore. But male leadership seems to have gotten us in such trouble we probably need a woman to straighten things out. There's plenty of conventional wisdom to support the gender change in the Oval Office:

Aside from advanced degrees or political savvy, smart woman, a real woman, brings invaluable life-experience to the table. We're experts in health and human services, economics, education and diplomacy. Ask any real woman with a family what she does. She keeps her house in order, sees to it meals provide essential nutrients, stretches every damned dollar, oversees (and often explains) homework assignments, settles domestic disputes. She is the one responsible for explaining why little Mikey can't whale the tar out of every kid he doesn't like or take some other poor kid's toy away from him just because little Mikey thinks he needs it. She's the one who explains why little Sally can't spread nasty stories about kids on her hit list--especially when she knows full well they're not true. This woman prizes peaceful resolution to conflict, sharing the wealth and honesty.

A woman is far less likely to send other women's children off to war. We're the ones who carried those kids--before and after birth. We're the ones who bandaged scrapes and cuts, soothed our frightened, wounded children. We know, first hand, how fragile they are, how easily they bleed. We're the ones who remember what our babies smelled like, how warm and soft and sweet they were. And we're more apt to understand that everyone on earth, no matter their race, culture, religion or sexual orientation, is some mother's child. Just like our own.

Women would rather talk than fight. We believe in hashing everything out. We are quick to explain why we feel the way we do, why we do the things we do and we want to understand those same dynamics in our interactions with those around us. We demand two-way communication. Ask our husbands. Aggravating? Yes. Time consuming? Yes. Worth the effort to save the family? You bet.

A woman is unlikely to go too far down the wrong road. A bad neighborhood makes us nervous and, unlike most men we know, we don't mind admitting we're lost. We're quick to stop and ask for directions.

A woman in a lousy mood will find someone to talk to, cry, eat chocolate or plant a new bed of perennials. Daisies, maybe. A man? He's more apt to holler and posture like the Naked Ape. Or tear down the garage. Men like their Big Tools.

But a woman knows that words are often better tools than sledgehammers and that, if the only tool you think you've got is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Even someone else's children.

So. When we are caught in a senseless, bloody war; when somebody's children are being displaced or maimed or dying by the millions; when this man's world is neglecting poverty, disease, injustice, and genocide; when our economy is circling the drain and 47 million of us have no health insurance and our kids are not learning enough to succeed in a global economy and big business types are getting richer by the down-sizing, outsourcing minute while the rest of us are losing our jobs, our homes and our dignity; when our government ceases to hear us and lies to us about damn near everything ...It's patently obvious that the time has come for the thoughtful, patient, unflappable, intellect-over-the-Big-Hammer approach to governance. It's time for civility. It's time for honesty and humane public policy.

And that's why--

I can't do it. Hillary Rodham Clinton touts thirty-five years of experience as the reason she's the best and brightest hope for positive change. Were it true, that would be the thirty-five years that got us where we are now. She's chosen the posturing Naked Ape, Big Hammer option, not once but twice. There's been little thoughtful, patient, unflappable civility in the campaign that bears her name. She's toyed with facts. In New Hampshire, about being the better pro-choice candidate. In Ohio, about being against NAFTA. And she's lied to us. Lied. Big time. She did not "misspeak" about running the bullet-fire gauntlet in Tuzla. Saying "I misspoke" implies a little slip of the tongue. A tiny lapse. I don't care how sleep-deprived you are, you don't mistake hugging a child on the tarmac with dodging gunfire.

And worse: A smart woman, a real woman, does not take her child along on a trip "too dangerous for the president." To try selling the rest of us that fiction is appalling.

Smart women, real woman, feminists, know when they've been manipulated. We've had plenty of sad experience in that department and we expect better from one of our own. We want more than just any woman in the White House. We want feminist principles in a campaign and in the Oval Office. If we have to vote for a man to get them, we will.

This is Hillary's church. She belongs to TWO prayer groups in this. Clinton has NO feminist credentials ---none.

This may well be why. She said that she would leave a church she found objectionable soooo given that she has not left this one and given that she has raved about Doug Coe in her book, we have to assume that she endorses these practices.

Dysfunction in the Fellowship Family
by Ben Daniel

The Fellowship Foundation, a secretive organization of wealthy and powerful American political, religious, and business leaders, would rather that you not be aware of its existence.

The Fellowship Foundation is an organization that goes by many names, but members mostly call it “the Fellowship,” or just “the Family.” It is a loose, worldwide affiliation of mostly wealthy, mostly powerful, mostly men, using the Mafia as an organizational model. Preaching a simple gospel of “Jesus plus nothing,” and, being adverse to institutionalized forms of Christianity (even shunning the name “Christian”), the Fellowship eschews organized churches, choosing instead to build strong relationships in the community of small cell groups. Each year the Fellowship hosts the National Prayer Breakfast and hundreds of prayer breakfasts worldwide, and through the relationships developed in these cell groups and prayer breakfasts, the Fellowship quietly exerts great influence within our nation’s corridors of power. For years, the Fellowship has operated without accountability, oversight, or restraint, in ways that are cultlike in the spiritual, emotional, and personal control that is exerted over members.....

......The Fellowship’s connection to power and wealth has has created what Chris Hayashida Knight, an ex-member from San Francisco, describes as “a priesthood of rich white guys,” men who are admired for their faith, respected because of their wealth, and feared on
account of their power. These are men no one really wants to piss off.

In fact, while soliciting interviews for this article very few people were willing to be interviewed
on the record. “Don’t use my name because I’m afraid of these people,” was an oft-repeated
refrain. Others expressed hesitancy to talk saying “I don’t want to break down the Body of
Christ.” The frequency with which both mantras were repeated is emblematic of the kind of
control exerted by the Fellowship over its members.........

......Life among the young people who live in the Fellowship’s homes is spiritually, emotionally, and
physically regimented in ways that are cult-like in their intensity. Absolute commitment is
required. In all things members are obliged to subject themselves to the will of the group,
becoming empty vessels ready to be filled with Jesus and a vaguely articulated Fellowship vision.
In an interview for this article, Jeffrey Sharlet, who for nearly a month lived at Ivanwald, the
Fellowship house for young men, and who later wrote about his experiences in the March 2003
edition of Harper’s Magazine, reports a constant striving for “an almost Buddhist commitment
to nothingness.” Mild hazing and intense scrutiny of the men’s past sins and shameful habits
were used to keep the men mindful of their humility........

........In addition, some Christian leaders are beginning to raise cautious and thoughtful questions about the Fellowship’s attitude toward women. An Evangelical scholar told me of being troubled after a chapel service at the college where she works. Doug Coe’s sister, a Fellowship adherent, had delivered a message promoting a spirituality that the scholar described as being “overly prescriptive of men’s and women’s roles and differences in function.”

Such attitudes toward women often are lived out in the Fellowship with painful consequences.
Despite the spoken promise that they are to be considered equal partners in the Fellowship's
ministry and honored sisters in the Fellowship family, the women of Potomac Point are treated as servants and are reminded that their role, both in life and in the work of the Fellowship, is one of quiet, strong support for the work of the men.......

Many of the women with whom I spoke reported being treated, at the same time, as children in need of instruction and as sexual deviants worthy of reproach. Such perceptions are not unfounded. One deeply committed Fellowship member spoke of his marriage apologetically,
comparing it to the marriage of the Biblical prophet Hosea, who was directed by God to marry a harlot so that the prophet might learn of the hardships God endures.

........Questions also are being raised about the Fellowship’s honesty. The Fellowship Foundation is
registered as a public charity in IRS Publication 78. According to a September 2002 article in
the Los Angeles Times, they have a large annual budget, significant real estate holdings worth
millions and dozens of employees. The Fellowship also has a clear leader in the person of Doug
Coe, and their records are archived at Wheaton College’s Billy Graham Library. Yet publicly the
Fellowship claims not to exist as an organization. Followers insist they are a “movement,” a
“vision,” a “family,” a “network of brothers,” but they tend to downplay and even deny the existence
of the Fellowship as a legal entity........

A Tinderbox Waiting to Happen! Explodes! Police Report / 4-2-8 Hillary Roots of Indifference by: KathyCallahan

Hillary Clinton Campaign Police Report 3-26-8
See New 4-2-8 Diary Below and Link
Hillary Rodham's Own Slumlord Story: Roots of
Indifference, Entitlement and Convenient Lies
Based on Historical and Familial Research
Blue Jersey:: Hillary's Own Slumlord Story 2: Roots of Indifference, Entitlement, Convenient Lies

An untold number of people have asked me for a LINK to the POLICE REPORT. I cannot provide a link to the entire document which includes personal contact information but I can now provide the following official information:
Police Report Complaint Number: 2007-014875 417/ID THEFT Date: Dec 11, 2007 Time: 18:04 Taken by Detective A O'Brien in Ridgefield, NJ.
That I was forced to file a police complaint against Hillary Clinton Campaign for unauthorized credit card charges and overdraft charges that were not being resolved at all by the finance directors who I emailed and called many times but to no avail...Yes it took filing an official police report on December 11, 07 and then promptly reporting that fact to Ms. Allison Wright Hillary's Compliance Officer at headquarters in Virgina via email and I also cc'ed the finance directors who were formally unresponsive to my pleas to make credit card corrections as I DID NOT WANT to file a formal complaint with VISA against HRC campaign to resolve this now very embarrasing problem! $3, 400 was charged on my Visa by HRC and the charges were NOT Authorized by me. I have also been asked for a LINK to substantiate that I was in fact a member of Hillary Clinton's Finance Committee. See last paragraph of The Herald News...

Juan Melli. Kathy has provided some clarification:

I used a figure of speech that might be confusing for readers and I want to clarify: By December 18 I got all of my donations back.
I happily donated $2,000. They had my VISA card on file. Unauthorized donations were made.

In addition, I was actually double charged for an event that I did attend.

Smoking gun: $5,800 is $1,200 over the legal limit.

I would say this in a court of law. I am an honest person...the following statement is true down to the letter:

Matt McQuenney who works in the compliance department at HRC headquarters told me verbatim -"What happened to you with credit card errors is happening to others,. You are not alone. Kathy, I'm trying hard to find out where and who it's coming from. What's going on!"

I voluntarily left the Hillary Finance Committee after I discovered more than $3,000 in unauthorized charges from HRC campaign on my own VISA card! And that set off a wave of overdrafts and $400 in bank charges that I was stuck with. And the compliance officer Allison Wright at Hillary VA headquarters refused to reimburse me for the charges. And the senior finance reps who I notified about more than $3,000 in unauthorized Visa Charges never once aplogized or empathized with my plight, much less sent me a "sorry for all the trouble" note and a check!

Unbelievably, it took me more than a month of pleading and begging via email to get the money back. I was told verbatim:

"Kathy Callahan, you are going to be with us all the way to the White House...So let's leave the money where it is and we'll save time on inevitable future donations and transactions!"

I went into a state of abject shock, disbelief and later anger! Heartbroken. I didn't want to report this entirely correctable problem to anyone outside the Hillary campaign! One long month later, and at the behest of a bank executive who said to me a few days before Christmas Eve, "You are way way way over the legal donor limit, Kathy! What are they thinking? Are they thinking at all?"

So I followed his direction and filed a police report in Ridgefield. I then notified Allison Wright and Cc'ed senior finance reps (who I met many times) via email again about the police report and said, "Enough is Enough, already! Christmas is coming!"

It was then and only then and within a matter of seconds that I got a cell phone call and email from Allison Wright imploring me, "Kathy, please don't do anything, formally! I will send you whatever you want back, immediately!" I told her, "You can send all of my money back!"

Finally, $5,300 large came back to me but not the $400 in overdraft charges. And to think that the legal limit during the primary is $2,300 and I had already generously and enthusiastically donated $2,000 to Hillary legitimately! I don't know why so much chaos and stalling ensued when $5, 800 on their books is a huge red flag...and certainly not my fault!

The Hillary Finance Director knew how much I earned as I was fully VETTED. And I talked to her every other day about the sacrifices that I was making for a year and a once in a lifetime opportunity providing counseling and life saving Psychological-CPR self care strategies to HIV Positive kids, teens, parents and adults at a Catholic Healthcare Institution! My motto is: Yes You Can Access Your Own Hidden Abilities! And they did!

I had no other choice but to walk away from the Hillary campaign! And I am so glad that I did. Every cloud has a green, gold and silver lining. And in my case it's Barack Obama. When one door closes (or slams shut) another door opens!

-Kathy Callahan, MSW, NJ LCSW, MASS LICSW

NEW YORK -- Something remarkable happened at 44 Henry St., a grimy Chinatown tenement with peeling walls. It also happened nearby at a dimly lighted apartment building with trash bins clustered by the front door.

And again not too far away, at 88 E. Broadway beneath the Manhattan bridge, where vendors chatter in Mandarin and Fujianese as they hawk rubber sandals and bargain-basement clothes.

All three locations, along with scores of others scattered throughout some of the poorest Chinese neighborhoods in Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx, have been swept by an extraordinary impulse to shower money on one particular presidential candidate -- Democratic front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Dishwashers, waiters and others whose jobs and dilapidated home addresses seem to make them unpromising targets for political fundraisers are pouring $1,000 and $2,000 contributions into Clinton's campaign treasury. In April, a single fundraiser in an area long known for its gritty urban poverty yielded a whopping $380,000. When Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) ran for president in 2004, he received $24,000 from Chinatown.

She's probably not even a woman at all, right? Is that the next argument?

Agreed. Her gender has nothing to do with my not supporting her. It's all the status quo bullshit she represents. The feeling I get from her is the same I get from Mccain & Obama, they want to be president because they want to be president. Sorry, but I'm seriously fed up with that shit. I want to see qualifications and convictions. Thus far, I see nothing but hype.

Black man vs, white woman is just another "reality show" (note the quotes 'cause it sure as shit ain't real). If America wants WrestleMania, then Jesse Ventura should throw his hat in as well.
