CNN "compassion" with Hillary and Obama
This was a truly strange show.
Some really dumb, IMO, questions. Obama got more applause, but Hillary SAID more. Someone did ask him "how" he would unify us, and in his answer, he listed a number of things we need to do, such as get parents more involved with their kids' school work. He didn't, however, indicate how he would make this (or the rest of his list) happen. He got a lot of applause for this. Both gave, pretty similar answers to almost everything asked, and both pandered to the concept that their faith is really important to them, but the question that was NOT asked of either and is, I believe the important question, was: "Can you make decisions based upon our constitution when it is in conflict with your religious beliefs?" Wasn't Terri Schaivo driven by religious beliefs? Blocking stem cell research? This is what happens when a president considers his "faith" more important than our constitution. McCain had been invited, but was unable to attend. They said they'll catch him later.

On the religion thing: All you have to do is make sure politicians pay with their jobs and reputations, if they put religion (politics), ahead of the Constitution. People always bitch about politicians, but the people are the one's allowing politicians to do the stuff people bitch at them about. |
