I watched most of it, I thought he was great, I thought it would be good for America to see that Wright wasn't the racist loony he's been portrayed as, but right off the bat all the news channels went apeshit about how damaging this is for Obama. They picked out a few snippets but even those were tame. Even the comment about he does what a preacher does and Obama does what a politician does... so what? That's the line they're saying through Obama under the bus. Why?

I don't get it.

Don't look at me for an answer. You would think just stepping forward to answer questions and stand up forhimself would be the kind of thing that would gain him some respect....but i think he made some statements about the differences between blacks and whites and perhaps that just seems like a wedge being pushed further inbetween the races.

Is the issue Black verses white? there seem to be many other ethnicities that are left to the wayside. Plus he has not actualy apologised for some remarks like the Garlic nose comment that deserve an apology. He may never get the support of Italian Americans untill he does. But I am willing to listen and try to understand what he is saying. I just don't think the majority of Americans are.

Wright should not and will not fade away. He lit a fuse that has been lit before, just to be stamped out. What an explosion of this type would be....I do not know. But this country has been needing a good shake up of these issues for some time. Regardless of who raises it or how, it would be a powder keg.

No news till the next primary sounds good to me.

Edgar Winter was not with the Average White Band, which was a hideous disco band from the horror that was the mid-to-late 1970s. Edgar Winter's original band was called "White Trash", and his later ensemble was the Edgar Winter Group, which released "They Only Come Out At Night", including "Frankenstein", "Free Ride" and other hit songs.
