when this primary is over, and it's obama verses mc cain, these numbers will change dramatically.

the party is FRACTURED right now.

IF the primary doesn't drag on another month, i think there will be enough time to heal most of it. especially if hillary does what she should - and endorses and perhaps even campaigns for obama when she finally drops out - there should be enough time.

hillary CAN'T win without the black vote.

i just heard that several pundit's are hearing there's more and more talk that something's up and hillary will be out soon, from people like terry mc cauliff, etc. people are talking that the party is getting too fractured and that she's finally admitting that fact.

yeah, i'm hearing more and more about this FALN stuff, too.
and if I'M hearing it, you KNOW the supers are!

there's actually ALL kinds of stuff the gop has to use against her.

probably the MAIN thing they are planning to use against her, if she somehow managed to get super delegates to over-turn the primary pledged delegates, is that she STOLE the nomination, since obama won the VAST majority of independents.

and of course, she voted to authorize the iraq war, which they'll use to undercut her entire anti-iraq platform.

That is probably because she knows her contempt of court charge is about to leak out! The gag order does not cover every one.

She thinks she will have another shot? NOT!!!

That while Obama has the stronger arguments against McCain -- on the war, on lobbyist influence, health care, jobs, etc, etc. (as Neptune stated) something else is pulling his numbers down......right now. It can and will change, but which direction he goes in the polls (regardless of how unimportant polls this election seem to be) is not as important as the primaries themselves. Polls mean virtualy nothing.

it's all about the racism. pennsylvannia is a very backward state for a northern state when it comes to race relations and hillbillies.
it's also waaaay older (voter age) than most states, and less educated. and these are all hillary's base, and all more susceptible to racial fear tactics.
(my friend there tells me it's really bad there - in terms of racism, something he's deeply embarrassed about.)
with the media talking about NOTHING BUT wright, that's all it is.

and it's to be expected.
nobody EVER would think getting the first black president would be a cakewalk.

the thing is, even though i didn't personally have problems with anything wright said, most pundits i've heard talking since obama's press conference this morning have said that obama's statement should finally be sufficient to stop the MSM story line.

they all seem to think they can't keep it going now that he's completely washed his hands of wright. they also seemed to like obama's demeanor - saying it showed obama can remain cool, and articulate even when he's obviously totally steamed. and that bodes well for how he'll handle gop GE attacks.

i've heard a couple say that today was actually a great day for obama. they expect him to really rebound, and that a lot of supers will start to endorse him, now that he's put this connection to bed.

when you think about it, obama doesn't have NEARLY the baggage clinton has. first off her trust ranking is 37% now, and obama's is still in the 60%. no to mention that she's managed to avoid all the lewisky impeachment issues, just because she's basically fighting obama, and HE can't go there!

but the gop is under no such obligation, and if she got the nomination, all that would be on the table, including her lying about her knowledge of the affair, and other affairs to cover bill's ass all the time, etc.

mc cain would absolutely slaughter her on her earmarks - especially since it was just revealed today that she's submitted $2.3 BILLION in earmarks for 2009 - more than three times the earmarks of ANY OTHER SENATOR.

$2.3 BILLION is a LOT of pandering. So glad to see she is using my tax money to try and buy votes.

since black people make up only 12.2% of the total population of US and all of that population is not eligible to vote I would say the effect of the "black vote" is highly inflated. That doesn't mean its not important, it just means that Democrats would not be destroyed if they did not win every single black vote.

Now the Hispanic vote 14% of the population out growing both white and blacks. They are the most sought after demographic, growing at 9% a year! Hispanics have already over taken blacks in income earning power. There vote will be critical and will be hotly contested.

It will be intresting in about 10 years to see who they are pandering too wont it?
