Unbelievable. The almighty dollar and fame has trumped a spiritual relationship and a historical candidate. How can anyone now not think this is the underlying reason for Wrights media tour. Depressing.

These days, who isn't hawking a book?

Anyway, a reader noticed that Rev. Jeremiah Wright, in Detroit over the weekend, mentioned that he's working on a book.

I come from a religious tradition where we shout in the sanctuary and march on the picket line. I come from a religious tradition where we give God the glory and we give the devil the blues. The black religious tradition is different. We do it a different way. 40 years ago, Dr. Anthony ... quoted in '68 the Kerner report stated that they were two different Americas. And for 40 years one of those Americas has acted as if they were the only America.

But all of that now is in the past. I believe a change is coming. Because many of us are going to change how we see others who are different. I've got to hurry on. I'm taking too much of your time. So let me give you the outline of the rest of this message. You can either fill in the blanks for yourselves or you could wait for my book that will be out later this year.

He should write, speak, do whatever he likes, but he should have done so after the election if he cared about an Obama presidency. Clearly, and in spite of the power of his words and the message he has for all of us regarding our history, he prefers his moment over the potential of this candidacy.

It was about much more than using those lofty ideals as deal-sealing marketing slogans in barak obamas attempt to explain rev wrights comments/character.

Barak obama puts paid to those words... it is about raising the dialogue not recycling the rhetoric, it is about shelfing long held resentments not throwing stones for lack of a reasonable response, you talk for a living and take issue when someone dares question your words--you call them attacks and throw stones instead...

That is the stagnant state of affairs and not progress, rev wright is entitled to his own opinion, thats fine, hes a reality of his times and one who uses the power of 'just words' from a position of influence he can express his opinion and im very glad that barak obama FINALY put his money where thus far only his mouth has been...it looks like progress to me.

I Heavy_monkey will vote OBAMA in 2008!

and if i get the chance i will help him get the DNC nomination too!

Its progress, stupid!

To me, the Wright issue is a completely irrelevant side-issue, having nothing to do with Obama's candidacy. Must be a white-person thing, 'cause it literally means nothing to me and has no effect on the way I see Obama or support/oppose him.

I don't think he is either.. He has the limelight he has always wanted...... It is 15 mins of fame & he isn't much concerned who don't like it or who he hurts along the way.........
