Troopergate resurfaces?

This is so incompetent! It tells us a lot about Hillary's judgment when it comes to staff!

Let me summarize what you are going to look at here.

1st the Ad
Digg it!

Hillary's ad about Gas Tax ran in NC before that primary.

NOTE THE NEWS CLIP they claim to be using in the AD entitled: Obama Attacks Clinton's Gas Tax Plan

If you freeze frame it and look closely at the clipping you will see the word "Troopergate" in the article twice.

2nd the Blog

Digg It!

A blog that includes a blow up of the clipping and is revealing the troopergate error.

OH THIS IS RICH! Latest Clinton Ad Uses Newspaper Clipping on TROOPERGATE!

They couldn't actually find a newspaper clipping that was titled what they wanted ("Obama Attacks Clinton gas tax plan"), so they made one up... but they attached the headline to a Troopergate article! LOL!

Here is a screen capture from the downloaded hi-res copy from Clinton's website:

I noticed because I wanted to read the article and several words/phrases were quite readable. Then I saw it: "Troopergate" not once, but twice, sticking out like a sore thumb! Then I could read several other phrases:

"had notarized a written statement signed by the governor's former communications director.. whether he has a private attorney to represent him in the Troopergate scandal."

" 'It is their job to do what they do'... said of investigators. 'It is my job to cooperate, which is exactly what I have done. I have answered all the questions over and over.'"

See for yourself. Here is a link to the ad from Clinton's website: HillaryClinton.com -...

Note: For those not familiar with Troopergate, see Wiki: Troopergate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Here is the summary:

Troopergate is the popular name of an alleged scandal involving allegations by two Arkansas state troopers that they arranged sexual liaisons for then-governor Bill Clinton. The allegations by state troopers Larry Patterson and Roger Perry were first reported by David Brock in the American Spectator in 1993. The story mentioned a woman named Paula, a reference to Paula Jones.

3rd the Article

But............

The Underground blogger is not quite correct. There was in fact an AP article by their desired title!

In fact it is the article that Hillary has claimed to be quoting in her latest racist remarks.

In the last paragraph you will note that the AP does in fact claim that BASED ON AN AP/Yahoo poll--Obama is losing the support of white voters!

An AP/Yahoo "POLL"? This is the source of Hillary's "reliable" information?

The biggest of all ironies in all of this........

The article was written BEFORE Hillary lost NC and MASSIVELY underperformed in Indiana! The thing that I don't get about this is---

Most claim that in polls you cannot estimate how much of an effect racism will have on an issue or vote because most people are hesitant to acknowledge their racism---AP and the yahoo's at Yahoo have done something unique---as illustrated by the campaign results---- they have found a poll that OVERREPORTS racism? They found people who lied and said they WERE racists???? Fascinating!

Obama attacks Clinton's gas tax plan
Democratic rivals campaign in Ind., N.C. as primaries approach
DAVID ESPO and BETH FOUHY
Associated Press
Sunday, May 4, 2008

INDIANAPOLIS - Broadening his attack, Barack Obama said Saturday that Hillary Rodham Clinton's support for a summertime break from the federal gasoline tax symbolizes a candidacy consisting of "phony ideas, calculated to win elections instead of actually solving problems."

Not so, the former first lady told a campaign audience as the next round of primaries approached. Obama is "attacking my plan to try to get you some kind of break this summer," she said.

Locked in a Democratic presidential race for the ages, Clinton and Obama campaigned across Indiana and North Carolina at the same time they competed in Guam's caucuses and added to their convention delegate totals in several states.

Obama defeated Clinton by seven votes in the Guam caucuses. The count of more than 4,500 ballots took all night. Results of the count completed this morning Guam time show delegates pledged to Obama with 2,264 votes to 2,257 for Clinton's slate. That means they'll split the pledged delegate votes. Obama's slate won in 14 of 21 districts.

Eight pledged delegates will attend the convention, each with one-half vote. U.S. citizens on the island, however, have no vote in the November election.

The gasoline tax issue has emerged as a key dividing line in the days before next week's primaries in a marathon race.

Both candidates are airing ads on the issue, and Obama said in his speech that Clinton "had to send a surrogate to speak out on behalf of this plan and all she could find - get this, a lobbyist from Shell Oil to explain how this was going to be good for consumers."

Phil Singer, a spokesman for Clinton, responded, "Considering that Sen. Obama voted to suspend the gas tax three times when gas cost less than $2 a gallon and has an energy lobbyist chairing his Indiana campaign, it's hard to take his latest criticisms very seriously."

Clinton and Republican Sen. John McCain have both proposed suspending the levy from Memorial Day to Labor Day as a way of providing relief from record gasoline prices for consumers. Obama opposes the plan, saying it would save a mere 30 cents a day and cost thousands of construction jobs. Money from the tax goes into a federal fund that pays for highway projects such as bridge and road construction.

Clinton takes time for girl talk in North Carolina

CARY, N.C. - Forget about policy speeches and wooing superdelegates. For Hillary Rodham Clinton, Saturday morning was devoted to chick chat - a panel discussion with a group of working moms on topics ranging from girl-on-girl violence to her daughter's early dating years.

"Chelsea was a teenager in the White House, which meant that the Secret Service went on her dates," the Democratic presidential contender said on a panel hosted by the Web site momlogic.com. "A lot of her girlfriends' mothers loved it when they double-dated because there was a guy with a gun in the front seat."

Clinton also acknowledged that for Chelsea's boyfriends, "It was really intimidating to talk to her father. And, I guess, to me."

Clinton joined the panel from North Carolina, where she was campaigning before the state's primary Tuesday. She took questions from a largely female audience in a high school auditorium. The mostly lighthearted discussion focused mainly on how Clinton had balanced work and family when Chelsea, now 28, was growing up.

Working-class whites like Obama less, polls show

WASHINGTON - Barack Obama's problem winning votes from working-class whites is showing no sign of going away, and their impression of him is getting worse.

Those are ominous signals as he hopes for strong performances next week in Indiana and North Carolina primaries that would derail the candidacy of Hillary Rodham Clinton, his rival for the Democratic presidential nomination. Those contests come as his candidacy has been rocked by renewed attention to his volatile former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and by his defeat in last month's Pennsylvania primary.

In an Associated Press-Yahoo News poll in April, 53 percent of whites who have not completed college viewed Obama unfavorably, up a dozen percentage points from November. During that period, the numbers viewing Clinton and Republican candidate John McCain negatively have stayed about even.

The April poll - conducted before the Pennsylvania contest - also showed an overwhelming preference for Clinton over Obama among working-class whites. They favored her over him by 39 percentage points, compared to a 10-point Obama lead among white college graduates. Obama also did worse than Clinton among those less-educated voters when matched up against McCain.

"It's the stuff about his preacher ... and the thing he said about Pennsylvania towns, how they turn to religion," Keith Wolfe, 41, a supermarket food stocker from Parkville, Md., said in a follow-up interview. "I don't think he'd be a really good leader."

Just before the Pennsylvania primary, Obama said many small-town residents are bitter about their lives and turn for solace to religion and guns. Recent voting patterns underscore Obama's continued poor performance with these voters, who often are pivotal in general election swing states like Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
