USA is the cop, to take it to the next step ,again using your analogy.
In all seriousness, if you want the US military to be the world's police force, why don't you become a Republican? That's not a snarky question, but a serious one. Is it that you disagree with them on social issues like health care?

I suggest we merge the letters R and D into a single letter. That way, all the RepublicanDemocrats would have (RD) after their names, and we could stop pretending we have two parties.
I don't oppose interventionism per se
But only if the goals are clear, the plan leads to a forced endgame in our favor, and there is no option but the military.

I was against the War, because it was folly to get into a land war in the sands of Arabia.
Much like MacArthurs admonition ( which we ignored) not to get into a land war in Asia ( Vietnam).
also because Hussein was efffectivly contained by our air cover - he couldn't mass troops .

I condemened Hillary AND BIDEN et all or lack of foresite.
But i didn't dismis her automatically as a President because of that.
Being a Senator, is a different responcibility than a President.

In a word -Yes. But I dont want the USA to be the Worlds cop alone.
I want us to work in concert with the UN, which Bush marginalized by his typical Republican arrogange towrds the UN.

I'm a conservative Dem, especially on Nation Scurity issues. if that helps explain it.

I appreciate the serious tone of your question

The nuclear Umbrella idea is a similar concept we used effectively against the USSR, to protect Eastern Europe.

So...you're for the world police eh? But because you fail to see the comparison and substitute my person with police...it doesn't make a difference if the person threatening you is a random person you barely know or a police officer....the analogy still holds.

Oh please, " Hillary is Bush" etc. is such a useless partisian Obama stance.
It's just an attempt by Obamaites to marginalize her, with out substance or merit.
My ass...with or without Obama I would say the same thing...with or without the D would change your view....I've spent enough time on these boards to know that.

Quote:
I laid it out as clearly, and as step by step as I could for you.
Why would I change the logic, if it was a Bush proposal?
Because it would have been war crazy bush making more enemies? I dunno...you tell me

Quote:
I just look for a good idea - bush or Obama, or Hillary.
Oh bullshit...if it had been Obama it would have just highlighted his "inexperience"

Quote:
Obama wouls be a nice face of change for the world.
A progessive example of post racial politics -I give him that as his due
Don't need to praise Obama for me man....I hold no affiliation....might I vote for him? possibly....but don't think that my criticisms of Hillary have squat to do with him...I was against her before he was even running

Quote:
I criticize Obma simply on a foreign policy stance

That's funny...because Foreign policy is why I won't vote for her.

Fair enough. I'm a libertarian, and I'd really like an alternative to the policy of military interventionism in the name of policing the world that is advanced by both major parties. So, no offence, but I wish you Conservative Democrats would work out your differences with Republicans and form a single party, so we could have an opposition party in the country for once.

Thankyou....shall I go into my spiel about evil and good letters again?

no world police - but working with the UN in partners with other military powers.
Like the coalition we built for the Gulf war.
Not the sham co-alition Bush claimed.

OK. i guess libertarians are kinna " hands off" in regard to US involement in world security.
It kinna falls to us by default, since China won't step up to protect innocent states from agression.

Am i right? -sorta like the hands off approach to the marketplace?
or government programs.

I just don't know a lot about Libertarians.
Ron Paul is pretty cool though.

Republicans are ALWAYS ready to go to war.
Republicans won't work with other world powers in secuity sharing arrangement

Conservative Dems won't flinch from war, but only if it's in OUR best interest, as well as those we are supposed to be helping.
It has to b a just cause, and a last resort.

Trumans use of the atomic bomb is a good example:
Last resort - just cause, end that war with less casualties that an invasion of Japan.
