Too true, in a way. CJ taught me that.

Remember how I used to refer to Caledonia, where, every spring, sure as clockwork, Iroquois (specifically Mohawk) people gather, staging protests, sometimes blocking roads, to protest land claims that have been backlogged for a couple of decades? Jesus the bigotry that showed its face after that. Not everyone, but way too many Canadians started screaming about tax credits Indians get, started droning about casinos, on and on -- things that had nothing to do with the issue at hand. Then there were the youtube videos (kept me busy til whatever group was posting them thought of turning off the comment option). All this seething under a mask of faux outrage when other aboriginal issues hit the news headlines.

I still wouldn't go so far as to congratulate a racist for their candor, that's surreal. But I guess in a sense you're right: the obvious ones are more easily dealt with.**
