I will not ever ever support an anti-woman candidate, beyond that Hagel would destroy Obamas chances.
Well, the president would make the Supreme Court appointments. My only interest in Hagel is the ending-the-war angle. But I don't feel strongly enough to disagree with you.

I know very little about Webb, except that he was Sec'y of the Navy under Reagan, and that he lost his temper with GWB about Iraq.

I do think that there are so many disgruntled moderate Republicans that the right Republican as VP for Obama might attract independent
and Republican voters. But it might hurt him with Democrats.

I can see Richardson as Secretary of State.

Evan Bayh is being named as a possible VP He stood with Hillary, but he did not back her up on the Bosnian lie as I felt Wesley Clark did, so I suppose I could see Bayh as VP.

I will read up on the VP possibles I know nothing about before I babble anymore.

(And I am still very sad about Heath Ledger. Have you seen Candy?} It will break your heart.)

Choosing a VP that is more "conservative" worked out soooo well in 2000.

For sure, but that was planned by The Carlyle Group and the
Project for a New American Century long before 2000. GWB
was just a puppet.

Anyhoo -- I confess I think Chuck Hagel is hot. Forget everything
I said. I was wrong. Plus, I have Vicariously's fears about Obama's
longevity and we might be stuck with Hagel making Supreme Court
appointments.

I think Winny is on to something with Jim Webb...might be an excellent choice.

He has been married three times, but it looks like he is fine on
abortion:

Supports Roe v. Wade and abortion rights. (Jun 2006)
Voted NO on barring HHS grants to organizations that perform abortions. (Oct 2007)
Voted YES on expanding research to more embryonic stem cell lines. (Apr 2007)

More on Webb on issues:

James Webb on the Issues

How so? A veteran of what? He served in the Marines from 68 - 72, and was in Nam in 69.
