Have Hillary and McCain apologized for their condescension?

I remind you that Barack Obama promotes himself as different.

He did NOT think his remark was condescending. He says plainly that he meant no disrespect. Condescension is nothing if not disrespectful. He, again by his own admission, merely has a "bad habit."

That he is chastened implies that someone has brought to his attention that it is inappropriate and sexist to thoughtlessly...read that, with neither malice nor regret...tack endearments onto exchanges with women.

Mind, I'll grant that he regrets it now.

This and Sweetie-gate *throws up in own mouth* will surely be the downfall of this campaign.

Sooo...you posit that to sling insincere terms of endearment around with women but not with men is a casual and common human frailty?

I disagree. In my experience...which is longer and I'm guessing more varied than yours...is that some guys do it and some guys don't. Some guys are sexist, just like some people are racist, and some guys aren't.

Oh of course, a politician foolishly responding "sweetie" as a bad habit (because he knows it's a stupid thing to say) is the same thing as an outright planned strategy that specifically targets groups in condescending ways. And then when that same strategy goes well beyond condescention and invokes racial and religious bigotry.

Yeah sure, it's the same.

  • Did they now? The aluminum aircraft severed the steel support columns? And how do you know this? Did you have cameras recording that action? Of course not.
  • I have seen many aluminum aircraft versus steel support columns in aircraft hangars for something around 40 years now, and I have NEVER seen aluminum prevail over the steel.
  • Well ya see TC, that energy you mentioned, potential energy you called it, was fulfilled/released ONLY at completion of the event.

weird...I've had women call me sweetie...a lot...yet I never see them call their girlfriends it...should I be offended?

Or is that one of those terms that only women can use?
