Obama Falls For Bush Sucker Punch

Liberals have repeatedly 'misunderestimated' George W. Bush's smarts and he beats them every time because of it. Bush bamboozled the supposedly smart Al Gore and the definitely smarmy John Kerry.

President Bush slyly made a statement before the Israeli Knesset that shows that Obama's stated policy of 'talking to' some of our enemies can be a complete waste of time. In fact, it can be counterproductive. The Nazis under Hitler used 'talk' to give them time to organize their attacks. The Japanese did the same thing with the U.S. as the Pearl Harbor attack was being implemented.

President Bush was not referring directly to Obama. Knowing that the Obama campaign is immediately responding to any and all attacks, they fell for this 'bait.' I hope Obama learned a lesson. I hope liberals here see that Bush is smarter than he is given credit for. And McCain is much more creative than Bush. Dems, if we don't smarten up, we're going down in flames again.

Silly boy.

You could not pick a better person than G.W. and he could not have picked a better topic than foreign policy.

Bush's comments were a gift to Obama. With a big friggin' bow around them.

There was no one happier that Bush decided to insert himself into a foreign policy argument than the Obama camp.

Ferfucksakes, if you didn't know better you'd think Bush was trying to bring down his own party from the inside.

What a wonderful, wonderful idiot.

You are delusional at best. Bush showed Obama to be the rookie he is on foreign policy and bait slurping. Bush hooked him good and reeled him in. Now he's gasping for dissolved oxygen and trying to explain his way out of not only talking to the likes of Ahmedinejad and Il but also Chavez and Khomani. Sometimes you have to kick a little ass. Obama can't even kick Hillary's ass.

yeah, sure, it wasn't directed at obama...

ignore the fact that bush's people admitted he was referring specifically to obama right after he made the statement.

naturally, hours later the gop talking heads were all denying that the bush people made those statements and the talking points were altered to say he wasn't referring to obama.

doesn't matter. obama's going on record in a few minutes to address the accusation. and everyone KNOWS bush is a shithead!

what's REALLY funny is how this is blowing back on mcSAME - who immediately hopped on and parroted bush's statement, and within HOURS was SHOWN to be the "ultimate" flip flopper in a taped interview from 2006, when he said the exact same thing obama has been saying all along.

DUH!!!!

mcSAME is just going to be ANNIHILATED in november!

But you have to admit that it was a brilliant ploy by Bush to inject himself into the campaign without kissing McCain on the head.

The example Bush gave illustrated that in a similar situation, Obama would be as wrong now as that other senator was in 1939.

I know you inhabit this dreamworld wherein Bush isn't a pariah that doesn't make almost the entirety of his party shudder everytime he gets near a microphone, but here in the cold dark land of reality Bush has no credibility.

Dems are absolutely chomping at the bit to take on Bush directly about ANYTHING. They'd debate astroturf with him given the opportunity.

You see, Bush is in a credibility and popularity void. The American people, sometimes not even completely rationally, assign him blame for nearly all of America's woes. They LOVE when some one breaks his balls. ESPECIALLY when it has ANYTHING to do with terrorism or foreign policy.

For Obama? This the gift that keeps on giving.

That senator who was a conservative republican, btw.

Beleive me. Bush's comments made the whole of his party cringe.

They don't want this election to include Bush. They want people to forget he ever existed.

since I have no particular ambitions for Obama, nor Mccain -
I don't care who wins as long as we get an overwhelmingly Democratic Congess to passUniversal health Insurance -
I am pleased to see this come up.

Under Bush we have had the insane idea that if we talk to rogue states thru diplomatic channels, somehow that is empowering them.

Obama's idea of presidentil level meetings without pre-conditions is not insane, but it is naive,
and potentially dangerous by giving US prestige, and semi-recognition to those states, without any benefit to us.
Better to SET PRE_CONDITIONS, to get them to reform, and then go into a summit, to iron out an agenda.

So it's a good thing the focus is on tis, no matter how clumsily Bush brought it out.

BTW. Talking is not appeasment, giving things away ( like the Sudatenland in WWII ) in the hopes for peace IS appeasement.

This girl is so much smarter than you eman, you should be honored she took the time to reply.

Exactly correct. This is what the Dems have been drooling for, a chance to frame this race as Obama vs Bush. It was truly a gift to the Obama camp. Interestingly enough, that's what everyone is saying everywhere I look... except for that little self-obsessed fan of the extreme Right that started this thread.

Yeah. This bastion of liberalism is a 'cold dark land.'

Yet he has whipped their asses twice for the presidency. Go figure. He's duping us again. Go George.

Congress' polls are lower than Bush. Hillary and Obama are members of Congress last I looked.
