It's why they'll be the first party to collapse and fade into history before the republicans. Obama and a few others holding office are the last bastion, and if they're sabotaged by the likes of of the Clintons and other appeasers to the right wing then it's finished, and scant few voters will miss them.

The irony is that republicans need democrats to run against. Were the republicans forced to run on their own merits and ideology rather than scaring dumb voters away from "liberal tax'n'spenders" they too would rapidly fall under the grinding wheels of history.

Well... no. There'll just be new ones. The Libertarians already stand in line to replace the republicans. The question is will a liberal party like the Greens replace the democrats.

Nah, both parties are batshit crazy. Take a good idea and run it straight to 'wing'ism.

I figure it'll all settle out, as these two parties (Dems and Reps) have traditionally done. The corporations that control them only control them as long as the corporations help gurantee the power attainment that is the root of party survival. '
Once those corporations and like become a hinderence, the parties will once again court and win over the moderate/centrist enough to regain their party solidarity.
It's the swing and undecided that will regain their former VILF (voter I'd like to f') ability and we regain our previous ying and yang balance driven thru traditional great American shallow decision making by the voters.

Or maybe I just hate this time a year, considering my choices for lead citizen.
