But where? The Dems and Repubs have been the the two main , if not only real , parties since Lincoln won as a third party Republican. Since then, the two have only evolved. There was the "Solid South" when the Dems had the South locked up because of northern Republican Reconstruction and Blacks were restricted from voting.
Then Blacks were allowed to vote and the South became a Republican stronghold with their "Southern Strategy".
Seems to me the present day R.'s and D.'s are a relic from the Cold War, where Dems where perceived as weak on Communism and strong on social systems.
Today, with the DLC, Dems have caved in to Republicans on social systems, for good and bad, and Republicans just seem to be looking for a war to fight.
And just look at the two Dems left in the race for pres. One is basically a National Socialist. Socialist, for sure, but who woulda thought National Socialist?

And what defines a "real" party? Could it be when a flood of people move from a morally and ideologically bankrupted party into some previously pipsqueak party? The republicans were once considered not a "real" party until they were.

The republican party has changed a lot, but you'll never convince me it's an evoluionary process. More aptly, decay.

Historically, the democrats were as tough on communism as the republicans. Bare in mind that the best counter-communism and counter-soviet strategies came out of the democratic party.

The republican party has become the party of treason, since their policies are as detrimental to the country as the agendas of our nation's enemies. The reason right wingers sell out America is because there's money in attacking us from within.

Hillary has no fixed ideology other than what advances her own power.

Obama actaully believes in making this country live up to its best ideals.
