Ahem

The article isn't long. Consider it a preview, an introduction of sorts.
Robert Fisk: The Middle East never tires of threats

Are you interested in finding what's true, or finding what backs your opinions?

Iran has a reason to fear us, but that does not let them off the hook for their Shiite Crescent actions.
Nor do the other Suuni states fear them for no reason.

THEY ARE BENT ON HEGEMONY -do you deny this?

I'm NOT backing Mccain's ideas of " more sanction" either.
That is counterproductive, and only give the mullahs an excuse as to why their economy is screwed up.

What about the other western european powers that have applied sanctions thru the UN?

My views are neither myopic, nor jingoistic.
They derive from realpolitik

I skimmed it. no news flash there. Yes threats do cause an escalation of tensions.
Haven't we seen that since 1949?
the whole region -Israel, and now Iran ( not so much the current arab states) have only themselvs to blame for the endless cycle.

But to deny Al-queda's influence world wide, and that THEY are a threat is also naive.

Kerry had it right. most of this could be handled thru INTERPOL, and law eneforcement.

But you also need to know that Iran is flexing it's muscles, and want Iraq to be a proxy state, it's all part of their Shiite Crescent plans.
