So that leaves me with this, to paraphrase John Adams (badly): I fear that party become the main deciding factor of the candidate over the citizens.
Is RFK jr. so desperate to insure a Dem in the White House that he has forgone propriety in the name of politics (which might even be noble considering what business as unusual McCain might have up his sleeve)? Or is it a simple 'promised something by Hilary', a cabinet post or something?

Or is he right? Was it a genuine statement (not really a gaffe as much as overly PC citizenry?) that relates to party strife, individual party member desires and abilities, all in the face of any setbacks that can still lead to victory?
It doesn't really surprise me that RFK, Jr. didn't take offence to this statement, because I don't really see why mentioning his father's assassination would be offensive to the Kennedys. It's a matter of historical fact. It's not the Kennedys who should be bothered, as it wasn't the spectre of a possible assassination of a Kennedy in 2008 that was being raised. We all know whose assassination was relevant to this race, and it's not Bobby Kennedy's.

The person who should be bothered--and I'm cautious to use the word "offended", as "alarmed" is probably more appropriate--by Clinton's comments is Barack Obama. She was discussing her reasons for staying in the race. She revealed that one of the paths to the White House she sees open for herself is the removal, by some means, of Barack Obama from the race. I can understand why the Obama supporters are appalled.

Good observation on the RFK Jr camp. As to Obama, his camp has played this correctly, IMO. Bland statement that this kind of statement doesn't belong in the mix, but overall no big deal. Looks like he's allowing the Clinton haters and pundits make his points for him.

I hate to tell her (not), but at this time, if Obama were to be killed by whatever means, her statement might have alienated her enough that either another candidate rushes in (not sure how/if that could happen), or McCain gains the majority of Obama's supporters.

Obama had better be extra careful.

Okay...on my second excursion I came up with this gem

Quote:
Let us all fill up our cars and when we run out boycott and strike at the same time. I heard an oil executive say, "It's all about the flow of gas in the pipeline. If people clog up the pipeline the fuel prices will be cut in half." This will be a double whammy when we state we are protesting the treatment of our candidate, Hillary Clinton. Now let's all be real. When they stated she was pandering over the gas tax holiday they didn't state that the tax on a gallon of gas was 42 cents, even higher for diesel. They won't give us the tax holiday, we will take the holiday ourselves. Come on people this is a very serious suggestion. If we don't stop paying these high gas prices and put Hillary in the White House we get what we deserve. Please a real boycott for Hillary is our answer to the treatment by the DNC and the media and OB.
If that's not ignorance of business and ecnomics I don't know what is....

One of our Hillary supporters is over at Rumbleville calling the outrage over Hillary's assassination remark "making a mountain out of a molehill."

"Isn't this like the vice president saying that if something happens to the president, he takes over?"

I will never register over there, but Slowhand is doing a very good job of saying what I would like to say.
